Features:
- Eight analog channels support voltage and 4–20 mA process signals.
- Selectable single-ended, differential, and current wiring adapts the module to varied transmitters.
- Two conversion rates let commissioning balance update speed and noise rejection.
The module digitizes each selected channel at 12-bit resolution and presents the result to the Series Five CPU through its assigned input references. Hardware setup and software scaling must be treated as one configuration.
The 10 ms and 100 ms conversion choices have different rejection characteristics. Choose the mode with the actual interference environment and required process response in mind.
External 24 VDC is necessary for analog operation. A diagnostic indication helps separate loss of that supply or terminal-block connection from a real process-value change.

Matching hardware setup to the field signal
- Voltage ranges: Choose the documented unipolar or bipolar window for the transmitter.
- Current mode: Use the 4–20 mA selection with the intended current path.
- Wiring method: Select single-ended or differential voltage connection deliberately.
- Scaling: Make the PLC engineering conversion agree with the physical range.
Balancing response and line-noise rejection
- Fast mode: The 10 ms conversion shortens individual channel acquisition.
- Filtered mode: The 100 ms choice improves rejection around 50 Hz.
- Full response: Add channel sequencing and PLC scan time to conversion time.
- Process fit: Choose the setting from the dynamics of the measured variable.
Reducing misleading analog readings
- Shielding: Use twisted shielded cable and terminate shields consistently.
- Routing: Separate low-level analog conductors from switching power wiring.
- Reference paths: Confirm returns and common-mode conditions for the selected wiring.
- Terminal condition: Reseat and inspect the removable 38-point assembly when values jump.
Separating module, supply, and process faults
- DIAG indication: Loss of external power or terminal connection can trigger the alarm.
- Supply test: Measure 24 VDC at the module under operating load.
- Known signal: Apply a controlled source within the configured input range.
- Channel comparison: Compare raw counts before changing application scaling.
