The General Electric IS200EMIOH1ACA Exciter Main I/O Board is a critical central component tailored for the EX2100 excitation system, designed to serve as the primary hub for I/O signal management and control signal transmission. Its core purpose is to consolidate and process diverse input/output signals, enabling seamless coordination between terminal boards, control modules, and power conversion components—essential for reliable excitation control in power generation applications.
Engineered with a single-slot, double-height VME-style form factor, the board features a VME-style backplane interface that ensures secure, stable connectivity to the EX2100 backplane, facilitating effortless integration into the system’s existing control architecture. It operates on dual power supplies (+5 VDC and ±15 VDC), a standard industrial configuration that guarantees consistent performance and compatibility with typical power infrastructures. A key functional highlight is its ability to transmit logic-level gate pulse signals to the ESEL board, which then forwards these signals to the EGPA in the power conversion cabinet, supporting critical power conversion workflows.
As a dedicated Main I/O Board, it excels at managing signals from four terminal boards: EPCT, ECTB, EACF, and EXTB. The supported I/O types include PT (Potential Transformer) and CT (Current Transformer) signals, contact inputs, output relay drivers, and pilot trip relay drivers—covering the full spectrum of signal processing needs for excitation control systems. Mounted in the EX2100 control cabinet via a single-slot backplane, it integrates harmoniously with other system boards to deliver comprehensive monitoring and control capabilities.
Built for industrial ruggedness, the board operates within a temperature range of 0°C to +60°C and can be stored between -40°C to +85°C, with resistance to 5% to 95% relative humidity (non-condensing). These environmental specifications ensure reliable performance in the harsh, variable conditions of power generation facilities and industrial control environments.
