Features:
- IC600BF915 controls one positioning axis with resolver feedback.
- More than 70 commands support programmed motion sequences.
- A ±10 V velocity command drives the connected servo amplifier.
IC600BF915 is an intelligent Type 1 axis-positioning module that converts Series Six CPU commands into a real-time position-versus-time profile for one servo axis.
Resolver feedback supplies absolute axis position, while the module compares actual and commanded positions to generate a differential velocity command for the connected drive.
Its stored-program capability supports up to 10 canned cycles containing as many as 492 move commands, together with programmable motion limits, dwells, and status returns.

Series Six motion-system compatibility
- Controller interface: IC600BF915 resides in a Series Six I/O rack and communicates with the CPU over the standard Series Six I/O bus.
- Rack power: A high-capacity I/O power supply or a Model 60 CPU is required to supply the module through the backplane.
- Position feedback: The interface accepts an absolute resolver meeting the documented impedance and transformation-ratio limits.
- Drive command: A differential D/A output supplies a maximum ±10 VDC velocity reference to the servo drive.
Resolver, drive, and controller connections
- Resolver cable length: Excitation and feedback cable runs may each extend to 300 ft under the manufacturer specification.
- Recommended cable: Resolver excitation uses two individually shielded twisted pairs; feedback uses one shielded twisted pair.
- Discrete interface: Connections include Drive Enable, Loop Contactor, overtravel switches, Home, Drive OK, and synchronized start.
- Analog interface: The module provides a ±10 V velocity command and a separate 0–10 V general-purpose analog input.
Axis and feedback monitoring
- CPU status: Axis status and system-error information are returned to the Series Six CPU.
- BOARD OK: The faceplate indicator confirms that the module has passed its self-diagnostic tests.
- ENABLED: This indicator shows when the APM is capable of controlling position.
- FEEDBACK OK: A steady light confirms resolver feedback; flashing identifies missing feedback.
Motion diagnostics and interlocks
- Self-test timing: Hardware diagnostics run when rack power is applied and whenever an error condition occurs.
- Resolver fault: Loss of feedback is reported by the FEEDBACK OK indicator and prevents normal position control.
- Travel limits: Negative and positive overtravel inputs stop motion beyond the permitted range; JP3 controls this function.
- Drive supervision: The Drive OK input reports drive availability, and JP4 selects whether that interlock is enabled.
