Features:
- Interface Between the Operator and TDC 3000 Universal Station Control System
- Combines Capability of Human Input with Industrial-Grade Reliability Support
- Operates in Conjunction with the TDC 3000 Distributed Control System and Standard Industrial Monitors
The 51403578-100 operates as the Universal Operator Keyboard in a TDC 3000 control room, providing reliable data input to all modules within the system. It continuously converts operator keystrokes into command signals and distributes these inputs through the system interface to support steady state operation of all monitors and control modules. Seamless integration is standard with the 51403578-100, however using its optional PS/2 Interface Configuration will allow seamless connection to legacy systems in the event of modern USB infrastructure Unavailability. The 51403578-100 has made improvements in several areas over previous keyboard designs in addition to incorporating universal dual-interface capability within the TDC 3000 architecture.
The 51403578-100 provides essential input Functions common to the entire control System, and is a critical component of the operator interface path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall monitoring System. One 51403578-100 keyboard is required per Operator Station depending on the desired operational Configuration. The 51403578-100 occupies a Compact Footprint on the Control Console and is always positioned for Ergonomic Operator Access (the dedicated Input Device Location).
For Dual Interface Compatibility applications, the TDC 3000 System requires the 51403578-100 keyboard Module with both USB and PS/2 Connectivity Options installed. In addition to standard Single Interface operation, the redundant Configuration also performs automatic Protocol Recognition. The 51403578-100 dual Interface Configuration executes failover using the internal Circuitry specified in the keyboard Interface Options. Using this Method, the redundant Input System continually monitors the health of both Connection Paths. If the System detects that the Primary USB Interface is no longer providing stable Signal (outside configured Protocol/Tolerance Levels), it will automatically transfer the Load to the Secondary PS/2 Supply and place an Event in the System Event Log.
The 51403578-100 Honeywell Operator Keyboard may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
