The ICS TRIPLEX TC-201-02-2M5 functions as the Trusted I/O Companion Slot Cable within a Trusted TMR rack, providing reliable internal interconnection of 40-channel input signals from an internal Field Termination Assembly (FTA) to the corresponding input modules. It continuously routes field input data through a multi-core cable stripped back 1.5 m at both ends and fully shrouded in nylon Rilgain sheathing, ensuring orderly cable management and signal protection within the chassis. The cable is terminated with two 96-way type 'C' connectors housed in a double-width hood at the chassis end, and a single 96-way type 'R' connector in a single-width hood at the FTA end, enabling correct mechanical and electrical mating. The TC-201-02-2M5 incorporates comprehensive shielding provisions, including sheathed braids at both ends for safety earth bonding and a green screen drain wire at the remote end, delivering superior electromagnetic compatibility over previous manually wired interconnection approaches.

The TC-201-02-2M5 provides essential signal path functions within the Trusted rack and is a critical component of the input monitoring chain, directly affecting the accurate acquisition of field data by the processor modules. One TC-201-02-2M5 cable is required per 40-channel input module that connects to an internal FTA. The cable bridges the companion slot interface at the module side, with the double-width type 'C' hood always engaging the module connector and the single-width type 'R' hood connecting to the internal FTA, establishing proper orientation and secure retention.

For enhanced electromagnetic compatibility applications, the Trusted system requires proper termination of both the safety earth and screen earth connections integrated into the TC-201-02-2M5. In addition to standard signal transmission, the cable assembly also performs integrated shield bonding. The Trusted grounding configuration executes earthing using the sheathed braid and green drain wire specified in the cable design. Using this method, the system continually maintains the integrity of the shield path. If the installation environment presents elevated electrical noise that could compromise sensitive analogue inputs, the technician can automatically connect the hood braid to safety earth and the green drain wire to screen earth at the designated termination points, ensuring uninterrupted protection against interference across the entire signal chain.
