More Information

Overview Manuals Input Architecture Termination Strategy Commissioning Application
  • Confirm the exact RH101DF label rather than relying on the FBM217 family name
  • Match the selected voltage-monitor or contact-sense termination assembly to the field circuit
  • Preserve the main and expansion TA cable arrangement before replacement

Foxboro RH101DF is the exact-order Compact FBM217 discrete input module for 32-channel status acquisition.

Selection depends on the field voltage, contact-sense method, required isolation and the matching termination assembly rather than on the module alone.

Before installation, record baseplate position, TA numbers, Type 4/Type 6 cables, channel mapping and configured debounce values.

Availability, condition, price, and shipping time for RH101DF are confirmed during quotation.

  • 32 group-isolated discrete input channels
  • Configurable debounce supports stable field-status acquisition
  • Pulse counting is supported within the documented 250 Hz limit
  • TA selection determines voltage, contact-sense and isolation behavior
  • Type 4 cable connects the baseplate to the main TA
  • Type 6 cable links a compatible main TA to its expansion TA
  • Restore the exact slot and channel map before enabling logic
  • Prove every main and expansion TA terminal against the database
  • Verify redundancy and event timing where configured
  • Dense discrete-status acquisition in Compact 200 Series stations
  • Contact-sense monitoring with a documented matching TA
  • Voltage-state monitoring using an approved RH101DF termination arrangement
Description
Foxboro RH101DF samples 32 discrete channels and transfers their states to an associated control processor over the redundant 2 Mbps Module Fieldbus.

Its input behavior is set by the installed termination assemblies, allowing supported low-voltage monitoring, contact sensing and selected high-voltage interfaces without changing the module identity.

The module is used where dense field-status acquisition, optional redundancy and sequence-of-events support are required in Compact 200 Series stations.

Technical notes
RH101DF is the module order number for Compact FBM217. Confirm all termination assemblies and both termination-cable types separately; they are not implied by the module number.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Can Foxboro RH101DF replace a standard FBM217 without checking the baseplate?
No. RH101DF mounts on the Compact 200 Series 16-slot horizontal baseplate, so the physical platform, fieldbus arrangement and termination-cable interface must match.
Which termination assembly should be ordered with Foxboro RH101DF?
Choose it from the exact field circuit: voltage level, contact-sense power source, isolation method and terminal style. The official matrix lists different TAs for these arrangements.
Can Foxboro RH101DF use only one termination assembly for all 32 channels?
Some installations use a main TA plus an expansion TA. Confirm the selected TA family and whether all 32 channels require both assemblies before ordering cables.
Why can half the channels remain offline after replacing Foxboro RH101DF?
Inspect the main-to-expansion Type 6 cable, expansion TA power or commons, connector seating and the channel declaration in the control database.
Can Foxboro RH101DF be used for high-speed pulse counting?
It supports the documented pulse-count function up to 250 Hz, but it is not a substitute for a dedicated high-speed counter when the signal exceeds that limit or needs different timing behavior.
What must be recorded before removing Foxboro RH101DF?
Record the baseplate slot, main and expansion TA part numbers, both cable part numbers and lengths, channel-to-terminal map, debounce settings, redundancy pairing and active forcing.
How should Foxboro RH101DF be validated after installation?
Check every input from the field terminal through the control database, verify debounce and alarm behavior, test any redundant partner, and confirm safe sequence-of-events handling under controlled conditions.
