- Eight commoned-return, DC-coupled TMR analog outputs for supervised field-current loops
- Independent voltage and current loopback circuits monitor every output point
- Redundant external loop-power inputs with Pwr1 and Pwr2 presence indication
The Invensys TRICONEX 3805E is a TMR analog output module for Tricon safety and critical-control systems. It converts triplicated controller commands into supervised current outputs for analog final-control devices.
Each command is voted before a healthy channel drives the field loop. Independent voltage and current loopback circuits monitor signal accuracy, selected-channel current flow, and channel health without relying on the connected load alone.
Before installation, verify the external loop-power design, load resistance, termination assembly, interface cable, Tricon system configuration, and field-device requirements. The Pwr indicators confirm power presence but do not prove that the available voltage is adequate under load.
The Invensys TRICONEX 3805E TMR Analog Output Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Independent voltage and current loopback circuits verify signal accuracy, selected-channel current flow, and channel health for each point.
- The Load indication identifies a point that cannot drive current, including an open field loop.
- A Fault indication identifies a channel fault rather than complete module failure; fault-tolerant operation can continue while the fault is serviced.
- Field loop power is supplied externally through the termination assembly, with provision for redundant sources.
- Pwr1 and Pwr2 confirm loop-power presence above the detector threshold but do not prove that available voltage is adequate for the connected load.
- Select the loop supply from the documented load-resistance requirement and include wiring and termination voltage drops in the check.
- TRICONEX 3805E supports a hot-spare arrangement that permits online replacement of a faulty analog output module.
- TRICONEX 3805H adds support for increased inductive loads and is documented as fully compatible in TRICONEX 3805E applications.
- A separate field termination assembly and interface cable are required, and the module is mechanically keyed for the configured chassis position.
- Emergency shutdown systems using supervised analog final-control elements
- Burner management systems controlling modulating valves, dampers, or positioners
- Critical process-control loops requiring fault-tolerant analog output commands
