Features:
- Dual High-Current Outputs for Actuator Redundancy
- Integrated Voltage-to-Current Converters with Loopback Diagnostics
- Redundant 24 VDC Power Architecture
The Invensys Triconex 7400209-010 provides two specialized 20-320 mA channels designed to drive dual-coil actuators in turbine control systems. If one coil fails, the remaining coil automatically receives the full current, maintaining actuator force and preventing process interruption.
Each output channel on the Invensys Triconex 7400209-010 includes an onboard voltage-to-current converter. Dedicated loopback voltage output terminals allow the Tricon controller to continuously verify actual output current, enabling real-time detection of open circuits, short circuits, or coil degradation without additional field sensors.
The Invensys Triconex 7400209-010 accepts dual independent 24 VDC power sources (PWRA and PWRB) with built-in diode ORing. This design eliminates a single point of power failure, ensuring the analog output loop remains operational even if one power supply fails, directly supporting high-availability safety systems.
The 7400209-010 Invensys Triconex Analog Output Base Plate may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- IEC 61508 / IEC 61511 SIL 3 – The base plate preserves the full safety integrity level of the 3806E module; no derating required for the 20-320 mA channels.
- ATEX / IECEx Zone 2 & Class I Division 2 – Non-incendive field wiring circuits allow installation in hazardous areas without expensive explosion-proof enclosures.
- EMC / EMI Immunity – Designed to meet EN 61000-6-2 and 61000-6-4, ensuring reliable operation near radio transmitters, VFDs, or high-power switchgear.
- RoHS & WEEE Compliant – Lead-free construction and recyclable materials meet current environmental regulations for global export.
- Wide Ambient Temperature Range – Certified for operation from -40°C to +70°C, allowing outdoor cabinet installation without additional heating or cooling in most climates.
- High Vibration & Shock Immunity – Withstands 1 G (10-150 Hz) vibration and 5 G shocks, making it suitable for skid-mounted equipment adjacent to rotating machinery.
- Corrosion Resistance – Conformal-coated PCB (factory-applied) resists humidity and mild corrosive atmospheres (e.g., H₂S, salt fog) common in refineries and offshore platforms.
- No Active Cooling Required – Passive thermal design ensures no internal fans or moving parts, eliminating a common failure point and reducing maintenance frequency.
- Steam and Gas Turbine Control – Dual 20-320 mA outputs directly drive torque motors or servo-valves in electro-hydraulic actuator systems, enabling precise fuel or steam admission control.
- Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD) – Provides fail-safe analog output for demanding final elements such as slam-shut valves or pressure relief controllers in SIL 3-rated safety loops.
- Compressor Anti-Surge Control – High-current loop stability allows the 4-20 mA outputs to modulate recycle valves rapidly without signal degradation over long cable runs.
- Nuclear Power Plant (Non-Safety Grade) – RG 1.180-ready design can be deployed in EMI/RFI-sensitive environments when paired with appropriate termination panels.
