Features:
- Flexible signal types for valve positioners, actuators, and VFDs; 12-16 bit resolution; 10 ms update time.
- Prevents ground loops and protects the backplane from field wiring faults; ensures stable operation of multi‑channel applications.
- Mounts on standard Momentum I/O bases; communicates via backplane; diagnostic LEDs; 18‑month warranty.
The 170ADO35000 provides four analog output channels, each independently configurable for 4-20 mA current loop or 0-10 V voltage output. This flexibility allows a single module to control both current‑loop devices (e.g., I/P converters for valve positioners) and voltage‑controlled devices (e.g., small variable frequency drives). The 4-20 mA option is ideal for long cable runs because the current signal is unaffected by line resistance; the 0-10 V option is suitable for short distances and simple actuator control.
In industrial environments, field devices often have different ground potentials or are powered by separate power supplies. Without isolation, ground loops can occur, causing offset errors, noise, or damage to the analog output module. The 170ADO35000 provides galvanic isolation between each output channel and between channels and the backplane. If one field device develops a short circuit or voltage spike, the fault is contained to that channel; the other three outputs continue to operate normally.
The 170ADO35000 is designed for the Modicon Momentum distributed I/O platform, a flexible and modular system from Schneider Electric. Momentum I/O consists of a bus base (e.g., 170ADMxxx) that mounts on a DIN rail, providing power and communication to plug‑in I/O modules. The 170ADO35000 simply snaps onto the base and communicates with a Momentum CPU or a fieldbus adapter (e.g., PROFIBUS, Ethernet/IP) via the backplane.
The 170ADO35000 Schneider Analog Output Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond
End-Of-Life (EOL)by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Material Handling & Conveyors: Controls sorting gates, pneumatic diverters, routing arms, and motor starter coils on automated logistics lines.
- Discrete Packaging Lines: Interfaces with high-speed packaging machinery, filling solenoids, capping cylinders, and labeling actuators.
- Water & Infrastructure Monitoring: Activates localized water valves, small dosing pumps, ventilation fans, and alert sirens across remote processing stations.
- Electronic Short-Circuit Protection: Constantly samples current output across each of the 32 channels. If a field valve or solenoid shorts, the loop kills power to that channel group to safeguard internal circuits
- Overload Current Mitigation: Caps the permissible current draw at 0.5 A per channel. The hardware uses an automated electronic reset function, removing the need to replace physical glass fuses after an overload clears.
- Grouped Fault Isolation: Segregates the 32 channels into two independent 16-channel blocks. A fatal wiring short in group one will not affect the operation or voltage stability of group two.
- Mounting Support: Snap-mounts onto standard 35 mm DIN rails. It can also be screw-mounted directly onto a machine enclosure panel or sub-plate.
- Modular Coupling: The lower section forms the 170ADO35000 I/O base. The upper face uses an open connector block where a communication adapter snaps directly into place .
