Features:
- A local display and 400-block program memory are integrated into the LOGO! 8 basic module.
- Eight mains-voltage digital inputs drive four electrically isolated relay outputs.
- Ethernet, web-server, data-log, and microSD functions are built into the controller.
The 230RCE supply design accepts either AC or DC within the documented mains-voltage ranges and keeps that wiring class distinct from 24 V LOGO! units.
Relay contacts allow different field-load circuits to be switched without assigning transistor-output polarity, but each load still requires the specified protection.
Network and removable-memory functions complement the front display by providing programming, web access, and recorded operating data.
The Siemens 6ED1052-1FB00-0BA8 LOGO! 230RCE Logic Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Interpreting the mains-voltage inputs
- Two groups: Inputs are arranged as I1–I4 and I5–I8 within the basic module.
- AC or DC: The 230RCE input circuits accept the documented mains-voltage supply class rather than 24 V sensor signals.
- State timing: Defined transition delays determine when a changed terminal level is accepted by the program.
- Program use: The logic diagram reads the input states by their assigned I-addresses.
Switching the connected loads
- Four contacts: The Q outputs are electromechanical relay channels rather than transistor outputs.
- Load type: Resistive and inductive loads have different permitted contact currents.
- External protection: Output fusing is required because the relay paths are not internally short-circuit protected.
- Circuit separation: The relay contacts can switch field circuits separately from the internal logic supply.
Keeping the LOGO! program and records
- Logic capacity: The module stores a program containing up to 400 function blocks.
- microSD path: A standard microSD card supports program transfer and storage functions.
- Data logging: Configured values can be written to the integrated data-log function.
- Software generation: LOGO! Soft Comfort V8 or later addresses the functions of this 0BA8 generation.
Using the integrated network interface
- Programming link: Ethernet provides the connection for transferring and monitoring the LOGO! program.
- Web server: The built-in server exposes authorized operating information through a browser.
- User pages: Configured web pages present project-specific values without changing the relay wiring.
- Station role: Network communication supplements the local display and does not alter the eight-input/four-output hardware.
