Features:
- Sixteen 24 V DC outputs switch field loads at up to 0.5 A per channel.
- TB16SC Smart Connect can extend the ET 200L station by as many as sixteen channels.
- Electronic short-circuit protection and local LEDs separate channel faults from bus conditions.
The electronic block belongs to a SIMATIC ET 200L distributed I/O station and uses the station terminal system for field wiring.
Total permissible output current changes with orientation and temperature, so channel loading must be checked as a group rather than point by point alone.
Bus-fault, system-fault, output-state and supply indicators provide distinct checkpoints during commissioning or replacement.
The Siemens 6ES7132-1BH11-0XB0 ET 200L 16DO Electronic Block may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Planning the sixteen output points
- Point rating: Each digital output is rated for a 0.5 A load at 24 V DC.
- Group current: Combined current must remain within the orientation- and temperature-dependent limits.
- Load types: The manual defines separate switching rates for resistive, inductive and lamp loads.
- Parallel use: Only outputs in the same group may be paralleled, and paralleling does not increase the rating.
Adding Smart Connect channels
- Expansion block: A TB16SC Smart Connect terminal block provides the documented expansion interface.
- Channel ceiling: The local extension may add no more than sixteen channels.
- Station role: The added points remain part of the ET 200L station rather than a separate PROFIBUS node.
- Project check: Hardware configuration and physical terminal order must describe the same expanded station.
Tracing a field or communication fault
- BF indicator: The red bus-fault LED points to the PROFIBUS DP communication path.
- SF indicator: The red system-fault LED marks a station or module diagnostic condition.
- Channel lamps: Green output LEDs show the commanded state of individual points.
- Supply lamp: A separate green LED confirms the monitored 24 V load supply.
Installation boundaries for the field wiring
- Protected path: Each output uses electronic short-circuit protection with the documented response threshold.
- Shielded reach: Shielded conductors may extend to 1000 m under the stated installation conditions.
- Unshielded reach: Unshielded conductors are limited to 600 m.
- Isolation: The output side is isolated from the PROFIBUS DP interface at 500 V DC.
