Features:
- Two RFID reader channels support RS422 or RS232 communication.
- The RF170C works inside ET 200pro PROFIBUS, PROFINET or central I/O arrangements.
- IP67 construction retains the distributed field-station format.
Siemens 6GT2002-0HD01 concentrates two reader links in one ET 200pro communication position before forwarding identification data to the host interface.
The reader-side electrical protocol is selected independently from the upstream station network, keeping local cabling decisions separate from controller communication.
A separate connection block completes the ET 200pro assembly and must match the selected host interface and field wiring.
The Siemens 6GT2002-0HD01 RF170C communication module is supported with sourcing, manual access and reader-interface review through Apter Power.

Two-Reader Data Flow
- Channel entry: Each of the two ports receives telegrams from one configured RFID reader.
- Serial layer: RS422 or RS232 is selected to match the reader interface.
- Module processing: RF170C converts the reader exchange into station data.
- Host transfer: The ET 200pro interface module carries that data toward the controller.
Upstream Station Choices
- PROFIBUS option: RF170C participates through an ET 200pro PROFIBUS DP interface module.
- PROFINET option: A compatible interface presents the station as a PROFINET IO device.
- Central I/O option: The module can also operate behind the documented ET 200pro CPU arrangement.
- Fixed reader side: Changing the host path does not add or remove either reader channel.
Module and Connection-Block Relationship
- Electronic module: 6GT2002-0HD01 contains the RF170C communication electronics.
- Separate block: The ET 200pro connection block is not included with the communication module.
- Field termination: Reader and station cables terminate through the matching block arrangement.
- Sealing: Correct seating of both parts is required to preserve the IP67 assembly.
Separating Reader and Network Faults
- Reader check: Confirm the selected RS422 or RS232 mode against the connected reader.
- Cable check: For long RS422 runs, verify cable type and the 1000 m maximum boundary.
- Station check: Use ET 200pro diagnostics to identify an upstream PROFIBUS or PROFINET issue.
- Channel mapping: ET 200pro diagnostics assigns channel 80h to reader 1 and channel 81h to reader 2.
