Features:
- Eight fail-safe PPM channels switch 24 V DC loads at up to 2 A per channel.
- PROFIsafe data links the module outputs to the configured safety program.
- Supply, short-circuit and channel diagnostics return status to the controller.
Safety output commands arrive over the S7-1500 backplane through PROFIsafe.
Coordinated P and M switches apply or remove the field voltage at each connected load.
Diagnostic feedback and front LEDs expose supply and channel conditions to the safety program and technician.
The Siemens 6ES7526-2BF00-0AB0 S7-1500 F-DQ Output Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Switching one load through coordinated positive and negative paths
- P switch: The sourcing path applies the positive field supply.
- M switch: The sinking path completes the monitored PPM circuit.
- Channel rating: Each output carries up to 2 A for a documented resistive load.
- Load type: Permitted switching frequency changes for resistive, inductive and lamp loads.
Relating controller safety data to physical channel states
- Command source: The safety program sends output data through PROFIsafe.
- Module action: The F-DQ evaluates the safe command before energizing the channel.
- Feedback: Diagnostics return through the same configured safety communication.
- Parameters: F-address and channel settings must match the safety project.
Separating output state from detected channel conditions
- Green indication: A channel LED shows the commanded output state.
- Red indication: A separate LED reports channel diagnostics.
- Protection: Short-circuit and overload monitoring protect the semiconductor path.
- Supply status: The PWR indication reflects the monitored field supply.
Relating the module rating to the complete fail-safe output circuit
- Safety function: The documented limits up to PL e and SIL 3 apply to the configured safety function rather than to an unconfigured output by itself.
- PPM circuit: Each commanded channel depends on its coordinated P and M paths, field supply and PROFIsafe parameters.
- Channel grouping: Because the channels are not isolated from one another, their shared potential relationship remains part of the field-wiring design.
- Backplane separation: Isolation from the backplane separates the field output section from controller communication while diagnostics still return through the configured module.
