V-Memory Parameter Block
- Storage location: Screen text, variables and formatting remain in the S7-200 CPU's V memory.
- Wizard allocation: STEP 7-Micro/WIN assigns the starting address and reserves the required memory.
- Display request: The TD 200 reads the selected screen from the parameter block after an operator command.
- Multiple displays: Separate parameter blocks with different addresses can serve more than one TD device on a CPU.
CPU-Initiated Messages
- Trigger: An alarm bit in the S7-200 user program starts the corresponding message.
- Message source: The alarm text and embedded variables are read from the configured parameter block.
- Display capacity: The TD 200 configuration can contain up to 80 alarm messages.
- Priority order: Alarm priority follows the sequence established in the Text Display wizard.

PPI Addressing and Power
- Direct connection: The supplied straight-through cable links one TD 200 directly to one S7-200 CPU.
- Default addresses: The display starts at address 1 and looks for a CPU at address 2.
- Data rate: PPI communication can be set to 9.6, 19.2 or 187.5 kbit/s.
- Power source: The TD/CPU cable can power the display, or a grounded 15–30 V DC supply can be used.
