Features:

  • Interface Between the MGC600‑CPU and Modular I/O/Control Modules
  • Combines Capability of Real-Time Logic Processing with Redundant and Reliable System Control
  • Operates in Conjunction with MGC600 Series I/O Modules and Industrial Automation Networks
The MGC600‑CPU operates as the central processing unit within the MGC600 modular control system, providing real-time logic execution, system coordination, and reliable communication to all connected I/O and automation modules. It continuously processes input signals and control logic, distributing commands and data across the system backplane to support steady-state operation of all controllers and peripheral modules.

The MGC600‑CPU provides essential processing and control functions common to the entire MGC600 system, and is a critical component of the automation path, directly affecting the proper, stable operation of all connected modules. One or two MGC600‑CPU units may be installed depending on the desired redundancy and system reliability requirements.

For redundant control applications, the MGC600 system can be configured with a second MGC600‑CPU installed in the designated backup slot. In addition to standard single‑CPU operation, the redundant configuration supports automatic switchover to maintain continuous system performance.

The MGC600‑CPU central PLC CPU controller may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Description
As the primary processing module, it performs real‑time logic execution, system coordination, and communication management for modular automation and microgrid control applications. This CPU controller forms the backbone of the MGC600 architecture, enabling deterministic control of connected I/O modules and subsystem elements.

Built to meet industrial automation requirements, the MGC600‑CPU integrates essential processing functions with flexible communication interfaces, allowing it to interact with digital and analog modules, field devices, and human‑machine interface systems.

It supports reliable execution of control logic, data acquisition, and system diagnostics, making it suitable for complex process automation scenarios and distributed control architectures.

The module typically operates within a 24 V DC control power environment and is designed to mount in a compatible chassis with modular I/O boards for digital input, digital output, and analog I/O expansion. Its robust construction ensures dependable performance in demanding industrial environments where continuity, responsiveness, and accurate control logic execution are essential.
