The ABB RTAC-03 TTL Pulse Encoder Interface Module, as a key feedback interface component in industrial drive systems, provides a stable connection interface for TTL incremental pulse encoders, enabling precise acquisition and transmission of motor shaft speed and position (angle) feedback signals. This module receives encoder data via three RS422/RS485 differential signals (CHA, CHB, CHZ), with a maximum signal frequency of up to 200kHz. Combined with a 15-bit speed feedback resolution (0.00305%) and a speed feedback accuracy of 50ppm, it meets the feedback requirements of high-precision industrial drive scenarios and is widely used in machine tools, lifting, conveying, and other fields requiring high motor control precision.
The module boasts excellent compatibility and flexible installation features, specifically designed for ABB ACS800 series drives, and is compatible with the ACS800 motion control application APXR7100 and later versions. It offers flexible installation options, allowing direct embedding into the optional slots of the drive's RMIO board or mounting on an external I/O module adapter (AIMA-01). With an IP20 protection rating, it is suitable for typical industrial control environments. The module is equipped with a rotary switch for selecting node IDs in the range of 16-31, and also features terminal switches for encoder signals CHA, CHB, and CHZ, allowing for flexible configuration according to actual application needs and significantly enhancing its adaptability.
In terms of hardware configuration and reliability, the module performs exceptionally well. It features a 38-pin parallel bus connector and multiple non-removable screw-type terminal blocks of various sizes (3-way, 2-way, and 8-way), supporting connections with wires up to 2.5mm², ensuring convenient and stable wiring. The encoder is compatible with 5V or 10-30V power supply. The module can output 5.5V DC (300mA) or 24V DC (210mA) isolated power and has short-circuit protection to effectively ensure the safe operation of the encoder and the module itself. The maximum power consumption of the module is 150mA for 5V power supply + 300mA for 24V power supply. The estimated minimum service life is up to 100,000 hours. The hardware performance is stable and can provide long-term stable service to industrial drive systems.
