Features:
- Operates as a Modbus TCP client while presenting data as a PROFIBUS DP/DPV1 slave.
- Maps cyclic process data between two independently configured industrial networks.
- Mounts on DIN rail and uses an isolated 24 V DC-powered gateway architecture.
Anybus AB9001-B establishes the data bridge when a Modbus TCP device must exchange information with a PROFIBUS controller.
The Ethernet side schedules the requested server transactions, while the PROFIBUS side exposes the mapped bytes to the master.
Status indicators and network-specific configuration files separate commissioning checks for the two protocol sides.
The Anybus AB9001-B X-gateway Modbus TCP Client to PROFIBUS Slave may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Process-Image Transfer
- Register Assignment: Modbus registers are assigned to the gateway input and output areas.
- PROFIBUS Image: The mapped bytes become the cyclic PROFIBUS process image seen by the master.
- Status Data: Control and status data remain available for monitoring the two network sides.
Ethernet-Side Client Operation
- Client Requests: The gateway initiates Modbus TCP requests as the client or master.
- Ethernet Ports: Two RJ45 ports carry 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet communication.
- Function Setup: Function codes and server transactions are defined in the gateway configuration.
Fieldbus-Side Slave Operation
- Slave Interface: The 9-pin female D-sub presents a PROFIBUS DP/DPV1 slave interface.
- Master Exchange: The PROFIBUS master assigns the station address and exchanges the configured I/O bytes.
- Acyclic Services: DPV1 adds acyclic parameter and diagnostic exchanges alongside cyclic data.
Power, Mounting, and Isolation
- Power Connector: A 3-pin connector supplies the 24 V DC gateway electronics.
- DIN Rail: DIN-rail mounting keeps the gateway outside the PLC card rack.
- Electrical Isolation: Network isolation separates the Ethernet and PROFIBUS electrical domains.
