More Information

Overview Manuals System Capacity Motor & Firmware Integration Limits Application
  • Use 7.5 A as the continuous-current basis for sustained motor duty
  • Check the 15.0 A peak requirement against acceleration and disturbance loads
  • Confirm that the selected 1394 system module supports the planned number of AM07 axes

1394C-AM07 is the 5 kW Series C axis module for a compatible Allen-Bradley Bulletin 1394 SERCOS multi-axis system.

Its 7.5 A continuous and 15.0 A peak ratings require the system module, motor combination and regenerative capacity to be evaluated for the complete machine cycle.

The replacement must retain the approved motor table, firmware release, axis-module order, SERCOS ring assignment, feedback cabling and saved motion project.

Availability, condition, price, and shipping time for 1394C-AM07 are confirmed during quotation.

  • Rated output power: 5 kW; continuous output current: 7.5 A; peak output current: 15.0 A
  • Include every AM07 axis in the continuous and peak loading calculation for the system module
  • For a 1394C-SJT05-D installation, observe the documented AM07 quantity and connection order
  • Select the motor from an official table that explicitly assigns it to 1394C-AM07
  • Verify the required 1394 firmware release before using an MPL-series conversion combination
  • Match motor-power and feedback cables to the exact motor catalog number
  • Preserve the documented axis-module order and SERCOS transmit/receive path
  • Check system regeneration and shunt energy for simultaneous axis deceleration
  • Retain the original grounding, shield clamps, cable separation and connector assignments
  • Higher-current servo axes in Bulletin 1394 SERCOS multi-axis systems
  • Positioning axes assigned to a validated 1394C-AM07 motor-performance combination
  • 1394-to-MPL conversion projects requiring the 5 kW axis-module class
Description
1394C-AM07 is the 5 kW Allen-Bradley Bulletin 1394 Series C axis module, rated 7.5 A continuous and 15.0 A peak output current.

The module powers one servo axis inside a compatible 1394 SERCOS system; it requires the correct system module, motor, feedback cables and firmware.

Before replacing 1394C-AM07, confirm the system-module catalog number, installed motor and feedback, firmware, controller project, regenerative capacity and the documented axis-module order.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Can Allen-Bradley 1394C-AM07 operate without a 1394 system module?
No. The 1394C-AM07 is an axis module that receives DC-bus power and system control through a compatible Bulletin 1394 system module; it is not a standalone servo drive.
Why can adding multiple Allen-Bradley 1394C-AM07 modules cause a breaker to trip during power-up?
Axis-module combinations affect system inrush current. With a 1394C-SJT05-D and the documented 1492-CB3-H300 protection device, Rockwell permits no more than two AM07 modules.
How should a compatible motor be selected for Allen-Bradley 1394C-AM07?
Use Rockwell’s official system-combination tables to match the exact motor catalog number, rated speed, feedback type, system module, axis module and required cables. Motor power alone is insufficient.
When does Allen-Bradley 1394C-AM07 require system-module firmware revision 1.058 or later?
Revision 1.058 or later is required when applying the published 1394C-SJTxx-D and MPL motor conversion performance combinations. Confirm the installed firmware before using those ratings.
Does installing Allen-Bradley 1394C-AM07 require a heatsink opening in the mounting panel?
No. Rockwell’s mounting table shows that AM03, AM04 and AM07 axis modules do not require a panel cutout. Cutout requirements apply to specified higher-power external-heatsink modules.
How should motor cables be selected for Allen-Bradley 1394C-AM07?
Select the power, feedback and brake cables from the official table for the exact motor and system-module combination. Connector family and cable length must not be chosen from the AM07 number alone.
Where should Allen-Bradley 1394C-AM07 be positioned when mixed with higher-power axis modules?
Install AM50 and AM75 modules closest to the system module, including their internal-heatsink versions where applicable. Position the 1394C-AM07 after those higher-power modules.
