More Information

Overview Manuals Protection Feedback Firmware Application
  • Axis module for one servo axis on a compatible 200/230 V-class Kinetix 6000 power-rail system
  • Integrated Motion over the SERCOS interface supports Logix-coordinated motion control
  • The -S catalog suffix provides the documented Safe Torque Off configuration
2094-AM03-S adds one servo-axis position to a Kinetix 6000 multi-axis system and receives its DC-bus and control-power connections through the Bulletin 2094 power rail.

The compatible IAM remains in the leftmost rail position. Axis modules are arranged from higher to lower power utilization, followed by the applicable shunt module and a slot filler on every unused rail connector.

Before changing the configuration, verify the IAM capacity, power-rail catalog number, total rail load, motor-feedback combination, cable set, hardware Series, firmware, grounding, enclosure clearance, and Safe Torque Off circuit.

Availability, condition, price, and shipping time for 2094-AM03-S are confirmed during quotation.

  • Solid-state motor overload protection uses thermal-memory algorithms while control power remains applied
  • Stored thermal-memory information is not retained after control power is removed
  • External branch-circuit protection must comply with NEC and applicable local electrical codes
  • Motor feedback connections must follow an officially supported Rockwell Automation motor-drive combination
  • Flying-lead feedback cables can use the 2090-K6CK-D15M low-profile connector kit
  • Premolded feedback connectors require additional clearance for the documented cable bend radius
  • Rockwell Automation currently provides Kinetix 6000 firmware revision 1.154 for supported hardware
  • Mixed Series A, B and C rail or SERCOS configurations require common firmware revision 1.125 or later
  • Control power must be cycled after removing an axis association to clear the previous configuration
  • Single-axis motion control within a 200/230 V-class Kinetix 6000 multi-axis system
  • Logix-coordinated machine motion using the integrated SERCOS interface
  • Servo-axis installations requiring the cataloged Safe Torque Off function
Description

2094-AM03-S is an Allen-Bradley Kinetix 6000 Axis Module for one servo axis on a Bulletin 2094 power rail. The -S suffix identifies the Safe Torque Off configuration.

The module operates from the 325 V DC rail and provides 17.3 A rms continuous output, 34.6 A rms peak output, and 5.5 kW nominal continuous power. Integrated Motion over the SERCOS interface supports Logix-coordinated motion control.

Before installation or replacement, verify the IAM and power-rail capacity, motor and feedback combination, hardware Series, firmware level, 2090-series cable and connector set, enclosure clearance, grounding, and Safe Torque Off circuit.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
How can a buyer confirm motor compatibility with Allen-Bradley 2094-AM03-S?
Match the exact motor catalog number, winding, feedback type, brake option, continuous and peak load profile, and cable combination through Rockwell Automation’s Kinetix selection data or Motion Analyzer. The drive current rating alone does not confirm a valid motor-drive combination.
What motor-power wiring requirements apply to Allen-Bradley 2094-AM03-S?
Rockwell Automation specifies 10...1.5 mm² copper conductors, equivalent to AWG 8...16, for the motor-power connection. The documented strip length is 10 mm and the terminal torque is 1.2...1.5 N·m.
What should be verified in the Safe Torque Off circuit for Allen-Bradley 2094-AM03-S?
Confirm the complete safety architecture, wiring, reset behavior and validation procedure against the Kinetix 6000 safety instructions. Safe Torque Off removes torque-producing power but does not remove hazardous voltage from the drive.
What cabinet conditions should be checked before installing Allen-Bradley 2094-AM03-S?
Install the module vertically and provide the documented airflow and cable clearance. Rockwell specifies 50.8 mm clearance below the drive, while connector selection and cable bend radius can require additional cabinet depth.
Is 2198-D032-ERS3 a direct replacement for Allen-Bradley 2094-AM03-S?
No. Rockwell Automation lists 2198-D032-ERS3 as an Engineering Replacement, but conversion requires verification of motor current, peak duty, feedback, cabling, shared-bus architecture, safety functions, controller configuration and panel dimensions.
Which Rockwell Automation manual should be used to install Allen-Bradley 2094-AM03-S?
Use publication 2094-UM001 for Kinetix 6000 mounting, wiring, commissioning and troubleshooting. Use KNX-TD005 for current electrical, environmental and dimensional specifications.
What details should be provided when requesting Allen-Bradley 2094-AM03-S?
Provide the complete catalog number, nameplate Series, required condition, existing IAM and power-rail catalog numbers, motor and feedback part numbers, cable configuration and photographs of the installed module. These details help confirm hardware and firmware compatibility.
