Features:
- Provides 16 channels of 4–20 mA analog output with integrated HART communication for precise process control.
- Delivers ±0.35% full-scale calibrated accuracy and ±0.05% output resolution for stable and reliable signal transmission.
- Supports up to 800 Ω output load with a response time under 80 ms, ensuring fast and dependable control performance.
The 1794-OV32 packs 32 discrete sinking output channels into a module measuring just 94 x 94 x 69 mm. This high density is a significant advantage for control panels with limited space. In a typical FLEX I/O system, a 16-point output module would require two modules to achieve 32 outputs, consuming two terminal bases, two backplane positions, and twice the panel area. The 1794-OV32 reduces this to one module, one terminal base, and one slot. Each output is rated at 0.5A at 10-31.2V DC, sufficient for controlling small solenoids, indicator lights, relay coils, and PLC inputs directly without external interposing relays.
The 1794-OV32 is designed to survive in demanding industrial environments. It operates over a temperature range of 0 to 55°C (32 to 131°F), allowing installation in control cabinets without air conditioning in many climates. For storage or transportation, it withstands -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F). Vibration resistance is 5g at 10-500 Hz – suitable for mounting near rotating machinery or on movable equipment. Shock tolerance is 30g operating and 50g non-operating, providing resilience against impacts during installation or machine operation.

- Distributed I/O Solutions: With various communication adapters (such as EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, etc.), installed in remote cabinets to reduce long-distance cable laying.
- High-Density Load Control: Suitable for simultaneously controlling a large number of low-power DC loads, such as solenoid valves, indicator lights, relay coils, or small contactors.
- In-Cabinet Installation: Designed with an open structure, specifically for installation in compliant industrial cabinets.
- LED Status Indicators: The panel is equipped with 32 yellow status indicators, allowing operators to directly visually confirm the output status of each channel.
- Group Isolation: The module employs a group isolation configuration to enhance safety and prevent fault propagation across equipment.
- Protection Deficiencies and Recommendations: The 1794-OV32 is a non-fused module.
- Installation Steps:
Turn the keyswitch on the terminal block clockwise to position 2 (the required position for this module).
- Ensure the Flexbus connector is fully pushed open to the left to connect to the adjacent module or adapter.
- Align the module with the alignment strip and groove on the base and press it down vertically and steadily until the locking mechanism engages.
- Hot-Swap Support: FLEX I/O systems typically support RIUP (Running Insertion and Removal), allowing module replacement while the system is running without interrupting base bus communication.
