Features:
- High Measurement Accuracy: Reverse mount design provides precise static and dynamic position/vibration measurements.
- Rugged Environmental Performance: Durable stainless steel housing and PPS tip operate across extreme temperatures.
- Full System Interchangeability: Backward-compatible with other 3300 series components, simplifying maintenance and inventory management.
The 330106-00-04-10-02-00 3300 XL 8 mm Reverse Mount Probe is engineered for precise measurement of shaft position and vibration in critical rotating machinery. Using advanced eddy current sensing technology, the probe outputs a voltage proportional to the distance from the conductive surface, allowing simultaneous static and dynamic monitoring. Its robust design meets the demanding requirements of industrial machinery monitoring systems.
Equipped with a Miniature ClickLoc coaxial connector and a 1.0 meter cable, the 330106-00-04-10-02-00 probe is easy to install while maintaining reliable signal integrity. The PPS probe tip and stainless steel housing provide durability and withstand harsh operating conditions from -52°C to +177°C, making it suitable for demanding applications where reliability is critical.
Fully compliant with API 670, the 330106-00-04-10-02-00 3300 XL 8 mm Reverse Mount Probe offers mechanical, linear, and temperature stability. Its backward compatibility ensures seamless integration with other 3300 series components, reducing calibration needs and enhancing flexibility, while supporting efficient maintenance and inventory management.
The 330106-00-04-10-02-00 Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm Reverse Mount Probes may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Large Rotating Machinery Shaft Monitoring: Used to measure shaft vibration and displacement in steam turbines, compressors, fans, and pumps.
- Confined Space Installation: When the internal space of the machine housing is insufficient to accommodate a standard probe, it is inserted from the outside using a reverse mounting bracket (housing).
- Explosion-proof and Harsh Environments: Typically used with Bentley's probe housing for easy probe replacement from the outside without disassembling the machine.
- Speed Monitoring: Monitors keyways or gears on the shaft for measuring rotational speed (Tachometer).
- Bracket Preparation: First, install the reverse mounting bracket or housing, ensuring it is securely attached to the machine housing.
- Gap Setting: Place the probe into the bracket and adjust the threads to bring the probe head close to the shaft surface. Use a voltmeter to measure the OUTPUT and COM terminals of the proximitor. Typically, adjust to approximately -10.0 Vdc (corresponding to the linear midpoint, with a gap of approximately 1.27 mm).
- Locking and Fixing: After achieving the ideal gap voltage, tighten the lock nut on the bracket to prevent the probe from loosening due to vibration during operation.
- Cable Connection: Connect the 1.0-meter self-contained cable to the extension cable. Ensure the ClickLoc™ connector is dry and clean, and it is recommended to seal it with self-fluxing tape.
- Cable Wiring: Secure excess cable with cable clamps to prevent signal friction interference caused by machine vibration.
- Measure Supply Voltage: Check the preamplifier inputs (VTX and COM). The standard should be -24 Vdc.
- Surface inspection: Observe the probe head for scratches or wear. Improper installation, such as reverse mounting, can easily result in the probe being "sweeped" by the shaft, rendering it unusable.
- Connector diagnosis: Check the ClickLoc connector for oil or moisture inside, as this is the most common cause of signal slippage.
- Measure the DC resistance at both ends of the probe cable: The resistance of a 330106 (1 meter long) probe is typically around 7.0 ± 0.5 Ω.
