Features:

  • Interface Between the Eddy Current Probe and 3300 XL Proximitor® Sensor
  • Combines Capability of Signal Transmission with Electromagnetic Interference Protection
  • Operates in Conjunction with the 3300 XL 8mm and Standard 3300 Series Probes
The 330130-085-02-05 operates as the Standard Extension Cable in a 3300 XL proximity transducer system, providing reliable signal transmission between the eddy current probe and the proximitor sensor. It continuously transmits the modulated RF signal from the probe tip to the proximitor while maintaining signal integrity over an 8.5 meter cable length. Seamless electrical continuity is standard with the 330130-085-02-05, however using proper cable routing and grounding will allow optimal performance in the event of electromagnetic interference. The 330130-085-02-05 has made improvements in several areas over previous extension cable designs in addition to incorporating triple-coaxial shielding capability within the 3300 XL system.

The 330130-085-02-05 provides essential signal transmission functions common to the entire measurement path, and is a critical component of the vibration monitoring channel, directly affecting the accuracy and reliability of the overall machinery protection system. One 330130-085-02-05 extension cable is required per probe channel depending on the installation distance between the probe mounting location and the proximitor sensor position. The 330130-085-02-05 occupies no rack slot and is always located between the probe and the proximitor in the field wiring path.

For longer distance applications, the 3300 XL system requires proper cable length calculation including the 330130-085-02-05 extension cable in addition to the probe cable. In addition to standard single cable operation, the system also performs automatic signal conditioning. The 3300 XL system executes total cable length compensation using the internal circuitry specified in the proximitor sensor options. Using this method, the system continually monitors the total electrical length of the probe cable plus 330130-085-02-05 extension cable. If the system detects that the total cable length matches the specified range (5 to 9 meters including probe), it will automatically adjust the calibration and maintain measurement accuracy within system specifications.

The 330130-085-02-05 Bently Nevada 3300 XL Standard Extension Cable may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

  • Vibration Measurement: Monitoring radial vibration in fluid-film bearing machines to detect imbalances or misalignments.
  • Position Measurement: Tracking axial position (thrust) to prevent internal machine contact and damage.
  • Speed & Keyphasor® Reference: Providing timing and phase information for tachometer and overspeed protection applications.
  • Harsh Environments: Suitable for high-temperature and high-humidity areas (up to 100% condensing humidity when connectors are protected).
  • Connector Protectors: This specific model (-02) includes pre-installed connector protectors to prevent environmental contamination and accidental disconnection.
  • Cable Routing: Cables should be routed through protective conduit. If using the optional FluidLoc® version, it prevents oil or other liquids from leaking out of the machine through the cable interior.
  • Tool-Free Connection: Features ClickLoc™ gold-plated connectors that require only finger-tightening until they "click," ensuring a secure, corrosion-resistant seal without special tools.
  • Interchangeability: Components of the 3300 XL system are fully interchangeable, meaning you can replace cables without needing to re-calibrate the entire system on a bench.
  • Signal Integrity: The 75-ohm triaxial design provides high immunity to radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI), allowing installation in fiberglass housings near radio signals.
  • Fault Detection: If a short or open circuit occurs in the cable, the system output will typically shift to within 1.0 volt of common, providing an immediate indication of a fault to the monitoring system.
  • API 670 Compliance: When used as part of a complete 5-meter or 9-meter system, it complies with API 670 Standard requirements for accuracy and stability in critical petroleum and gas applications.
