Features:
- Supports Dual-Channel Tachometer Signal Monitoring With High Accuracy
- Provides External Terminations For Flexible Field Wiring
- Delivers Buffered Outputs For Seamless Integration With 3500 Rack Monitors
The Bently Nevada 133434-01 I/O Module with external terminations is engineered for precise dual-channel input in the 3500/50M tachometer system. It accepts signals from proximity probes or magnetic pickups to monitor shaft speed, rotor acceleration, and rotor direction. Compared with the 133442-01 internal termination version, 133434-01 uses dedicated external cables for connection, offering more flexibility in field wiring and simplifying installation in complex industrial layouts.
Equipped with buffered outputs via Euro-style connectors, the 133434-01 can supply conditioned signals to other 3500 rack modules, eliminating the need for additional Keyphasor hardware. The module consumes 5.8 Watts, operates in temperatures from -30°C to +65°C (-22°F to +150°F), and mounts in a single full-height rear slot on the 3500 frame. This design ensures reliable signal acquisition while maintaining flexibility for maintenance and reconfiguration.
When used in conjunction with the 3500/50M Tachometer Module, 133434-01 supports advanced monitoring features including speed alarms, speed band alarms, zero-speed notification, rotor acceleration alarms, and reverse rotation alerts. Its dual-channel capability combined with external terminations allows operators to optimize sensor placement and wiring management, providing a robust, high-fidelity solution for critical rotating machinery monitoring.
The 133434-01 Bently Nevada I/O Module with External Terminations may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Temperature Range: Operating temperature: -30°C to +65°C (-22°F to +149°F). Storage temperature: -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F). Humidity: Up to 95% relative humidity, non-condensing.
- Physical Protection: As part of the 3500 frame, typically installed in an instrument panel cabinet conforming to IP54 or higher standards.
- Hazardous Area Certifications: North America: Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D. International (ATEX/IECEx): Applicable to Zone 2 hazardous areas (Ex nA nC ic IIC T4 Gc).
- High-Density Cabinet Installation: When space behind the 3500 frame is limited and direct wiring is not possible, wiring can be routed to the rail via external terminal blocks (ETBs) for easy installation.
- Rapid Maintenance Requirements: I/O modules can be quickly swapped out without disconnecting field sensor wiring, significantly reducing maintenance downtime.
- Large Rotating Machinery Protection: Widely used in steam turbines, gas turbines, multi-stage compressors, and large pump sets for overspeed protection and zero-speed monitoring.
- Remote Wiring Requirements: External terminal solutions are preferred when sensor cables need to be concentrated in a specific marshalling cabinet.
- Speed Monitoring: Real-time monitoring of shaft speed, supporting full-range coverage from low-speed turning gear operation to extremely high-speed operation.
- Overspeed Protection: Provides extremely fast response time (typically less than 30 milliseconds), triggering a stop command via relay output.
- Keyphasor Signal Distribution: Processes acquired speed pulses into keyphasor signals and shares them with vibration, displacement, and other modules via the backplane for synchronous equipment analysis.
- Reverse Rotation Monitoring: Detects unexpected reverse rotation of the shaft and triggers an alarm.
