Features:
- Supports Centralized Installation Of 3500 Monitoring Modules And Power Supplies For Integrated System Operation
- Enables Efficient Module Communication Through Close-Proximity Arrangement Within The Rack Structure
- Provides Flexible Configuration With Seven Available Slots And Dedicated Positions For Power Supply And Interface Modules
The Bently Nevada 3500/05-02-04-00-00-01 System Rack is designed to act as the installation platform for all 3500 series monitoring modules and associated power supplies. By organizing modules within a single enclosure, the rack ensures consistent system structure and simplifies overall integration in machinery protection applications.
This configuration adopts a 12-inch mini-rack format with seven module slots, offering a compact solution for installations where space is limited. The layout supports structured placement, with designated positions for the power supplies and rack interface module located on the far-left side, while the remaining slots allow flexible allocation for various monitoring modules.
The rack also supports a panel mount installation method, enabling secure mounting into panel cutouts using supplied clamps. With wiring connections and I/O modules accessible from the rear, it facilitates organized cable management and convenient maintenance, making it suitable for control cabinet environments requiring reliable and orderly system deployment.
The 3500/05-02-04-00-00-01 Bently Nevada System Rack may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Identify the Frame Interface Module (TDI): The frame itself is a passive backplane. Firmware updates primarily target the 3500/22M (TDI) module inserted within it, which is the communication brain of the entire frame.
- Obtain the Firmware File: Log in to the Baker Hughes official support portal and download the firmware package (usually a .bin or .fw file) that matches your 3500/01 configuration software version.
- Connection Method: Connect the TDI module to its local port on the front panel using a USB cable or Ethernet adapter.
- Perform the Update: Open the 3500 Configuration Software, go to the "Utilities" menu, select "Firmware Upgrade," and follow the wizard to flash the new firmware. Note: System protection functions will be disabled during the update.
- Software Environment Installation: Install the Bently Nevada 3500/01 software. Because option 02 is a Mini-Rack, software version 2.70 or higher is required to recognize the 7-slot layout.
- Rack Definition: Create a new project in the software, select 12-inch Rack as the rack type, and accurately drag in the corresponding module model for each slot (e.g., 3500/42M vibration module).
- Channel Configuration: Set the type of each sensor (e.g., 3300 XL eddy current sensor), engineering units (mm/s, um), alarm point (Alert/Danger), and delay time.
- Logic Programming: Configure voting logic (e.g., 2-out-of-2 logic) through the 3500/32 (relay module) to automatically trigger a shutdown interlock signal when vibration exceeds the limit.
- Small to Medium Rotating Machinery Protection: With only 7 slots, this frame is ideal for monitoring single pumps, small fans, or centrifugal compressors, avoiding the cost waste associated with larger 14-slot frames.
- Embedded Control Cabinet Integration: Option 04 (Panel Mount) is designed specifically for control cabinet doors. The frame embeds into the cabinet door via slots, allowing maintenance personnel to observe module indicator light status on the panel without opening the cabinet.
- Space-Constrained OEM Equipment: Suitable for industrial sites with extremely limited installation space, such as oil stations and compressor skids.
- Distributed Monitoring Network: In large factories, it acts as a distributed node to monitor motor bearing vibration at remote sites and transmits data back to System 1 condition monitoring software via Ethernet.
