Features:
- Interface Between the 3500 Monitoring System and Compatible Software
- Combines Function of 3500/20 Rack Interface Module with Data Collection Capability of Communication Processor
- Operates in Conjunction with M Series Monitors (3500/40M, 3500/42M, etc.)
The 3500/22M 288055-01 operates as the Transient Data Interface (TDI) in a 3500 rack, serving as the interface between the 3500 monitoring system and compatible software (System 1 Condition Monitoring and Diagnostic software and 3500 System Configuration software). It continuously collects steady state and transient dynamic (waveform) data from M series monitors and passes this data through an Ethernet link to the host software. Static data capture capability is standard with the 3500/22M 288055-01, however using an optional Channel Enabling Disk will allow the 3500/22M 288055-01 to capture dynamic and high-resolution transient data as well. The 3500/22M 288055-01 has incorporated the communication processor function within the 3500 rack.
The 3500/22M 288055-01 provides certain functions common to the entire rack, but is not part of the critical monitoring path and has no effect on the proper, normal operation of the overall monitor system for automatic machinery protection. Every 3500 rack requires one TDI or RIM depending on the data interface requirements. The 3500/22M 288055-01 occupies only a single full-height slot in the rack and is always located in Slot 1 (next to the power supplies).
For dynamic and high-resolution transient data capture applications, the 3500/22M 288055-01 requires the optional Channel Enabling Disk to be installed. In addition to standard static data capture, this optional configuration also performs dynamic data collection. The 3500/22M 288055-01 executes data transfer using the Ethernet link specified in the interface options. Using this method, the 3500/22M 288055-01 continually interfaces with M series monitors to collect both steady state and transient dynamic data and passes this information to the host software for analysis and diagnostics.
The 3500/22M 288055-01 Bently Nevada Transient Data Interface Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Rack Control Modes: Features a physical Configuration Keylock to switch the rack between "RUN" (normal operation) and "PROGRAM" (allows configuration changes) modes.
- System Indicators: Includes a Rack Reset button to clear latched alarms and an OK Relay to signal the operational health of the 3500 rack.
- Special Functions: Supports Trip Multiply (adjusting alarm levels during startup) and Alarm Inhibit (disabling all rack alarms).
- Ethernet Ports: Offers connectivity via 10Base-T/100Base-TX (RJ-45) or 100Base-FX Fiber Optic (MT-RJ) for high-speed data transfer.
- Local Interface: Includes a USB-B port on the front panel for local laptop connection and configuration.
- Protocols: Supports proprietary BN Host Protocol and BN TDI Protocol using Ethernet TCP/IP.
- Keyphasor Support: Manages up to four Keyphasor signals for precise speed and phase data collection.
- Asset Health Management: Providing the necessary data for System 1 software to perform long-term trend analysis and fault diagnosis.
- Turbomachinery Analysis: Essential for monitoring steam and gas turbines, compressors, and large motors/generators where startup/coastdown behavior is critical.
- Predictive Maintenance: Detecting early signs of mechanical failure, such as vibration anomalies or temperature spikes, in power plants, chemical facilities, and refineries.
- TMR Applications: The TMR version is used in Triple Modular Redundant systems for high-reliability voting and channel comparison.
