Features:
- Combines infrared and ultraviolet sensing for modulated flame detection.
- Provides four memory files, AutoTune and twenty-one selectable modulation frequencies.
- Uses electronic self-checking without a mechanical shutter in an IP66 housing.
The current scanner is the expanded S2 E execution for 24 V DC service. It includes local display and keypad functions together with remote communication capability.
Flame radiation is evaluated across the IR and UV bands, and the result is presented through relay contacts and a 4 to 20 mA output. Continuous electronic checking supervises the sensing path.
Application engineering must establish sighting, purge airflow, cable routing and frequency selection. Supply, relay loads, hazardous-area marking and analog load limits must match the burner-safeguard design.
Availability is confirmed after the fuel, sighting, hazardous-area and interface requirements are reviewed.

- Monitors burner flames in boilers, furnaces and industrial combustion equipment.
- Provides flame-proving signals to burner-management and safety-instrumented functions.
- Supports multi-fuel installations that need stored setup files and selectable modulation filtering.
- The scanner has been evaluated for safety-instrumented-function use up to SIL 2.
- A normally closed fault relay reports detected internal or operating faults to the safeguard system.
- Electronic self-checking supervises the sensing path without relying on a moving shutter.
- The E execution carries the documented FM and CE agency approvals.
- Hazardous-area marking is II 3 G/D Ex nA IIC T6 for the specified installation basis.
- Relay loading and enclosure installation must remain within the certified electrical limits.
- The enclosure is rated NEMA 4X and IP66 when installed with the specified connections.
- Ambient operation is documented from -40 to +65 deg C with non-condensing humidity up to 95 percent.
- Continuous purge air protects the optical path, using 4 SCFM normally and up to 15 SCFM where required.
