Features:
- 18-32 VDC input.
- 90 W combined output.
- +5 V and ±12 V rails.
18-32 VDC input establishes the principal capability of
IC697PWR724 within its Series 90-70 function.
The relationship between 90 W combined output and +5 V and ±12 V rails determines how the module fits the surrounding rack, network, or field circuit.
During service, optional two-rack operation must remain consistent with the saved application and the installed hardware.

Operating from a nominal 24 V source
- Input window: IC697PWR724 accepts 18 to 32 VDC at its input terminals.
- Nominal current: The 24 VDC source is sized for the supply's 6.5 A input requirement.
- Hold-up: The outputs ride through a total input loss of 10 ms at full load.
- Conductor termination: Copper conductors are tightened to the specified terminal torque before startup.
Using the available 90 W
- +5 V service: The main logic output can deliver as much as 18 A.
- +12 V service: Positive auxiliary loads may draw up to 1.5 A.
- -12 V service: The negative auxiliary rail is limited to 1 A.
- Power budget: The simultaneous rail loads must not exceed 90 W in total.
Extending one supply to a second rack
- Backplane position: The power supply occupies the leftmost slot and connects directly to the first rack backplane.
- Extension cable: IC697CBL700 carries the supply outputs to the second rack.
- Combined loading: Both racks share the same 90 W rating and individual rail limits.
- Eligibility check: A second rack is connected only after its calculated load fits inside every output limit.
Electrical safeguards and recovery
- Short circuit: Electronic overcurrent protection acts on the +5 V bus.
- Overvoltage: Output overvoltage protection limits damage to connected rack electronics.
- Input fuse: The field-replaceable fuse is maintained at 10 A and 250 V with the correct type.
- Restart check: After a trip, the rack load and cable to any second rack are inspected before re-energization.
