Features:
- Handles sixteen single-ended current channels on a common supply
- Exchanges analog words plus optional status and fault-clearing bits
- Stores calibration data in flash memory for field or factory calibration
Each active IC670ALG240 channel can be assigned its own current span, engineering-unit scale, and alarm limits; inactive channels retain their allocated data position.
During acquisition, IC670ALG240 averages sixteen samples per channel and applies the selected line-frequency and filter settings to reduce normal-mode noise.
Use the documented terminal assignment for the selected IC670CHS terminal block, provide the external loop supply, and confirm BIU revision compatibility before commissioning.

Channel Range Mapping:
- Preset ranges: Each channel can be configured for 4–20 mA, 0–20 mA, or 0–24 mA signal processing.
- Custom span: Actual current values between 0 and 25 mA can be mapped to user-selected engineering-unit limits.
- Alarm limits: High and low thresholds are defined in the same engineering units used for the channel data.
- Input protection: The documented continuous input limit is 35 mA without damage.
Conversion and Noise Rejection:
- Digital conversion: The unscaled converter provides 16-bit data with a typical input-referred step of 381 nA.
- Sample handling: Sixteen samples are retained for each channel during the acquisition process.
- Filter timing: A 10 ms or 20 ms software filter can be selected to suit the application response.
- Line setting: The 50 Hz or 60 Hz choice controls the sampling rate and normal-mode rejection.
Alarm and Fault Handling:
- Limit status: Optional discrete input data reports when a channel reaches its configured high or low limit.
- Range status: Underrange and overrange bits identify signals outside the configured operating region.
- Open circuit: Open-wire detection is available when the channel uses 4–20 mA scaling.
- Fault reset: Sixteen optional output bits let the host clear stored faults channel by channel.
