Features:
- Excites and measures four independent RTD circuits
- Allows a different supported sensor definition on each active channel
- Provides optional status words and host-controlled fault clearing
IC670ALG620 can place four analog input words and up to 32 optional diagnostic bits in the BIU data tables; four output bits are available for clearing stored channel faults.
A channel may report resistance or temperature, and its selected RTD curve can be adjusted in tenths of an ohm when the installed element differs from the nominal definition.
Inactive channels return zero and are not scanned. For active points, confirm lead resistance, wiring arrangement, measurement units, and 50 Hz or 60 Hz acquisition selection.
Official documentation and sensor-matching review are available for the General Electric IC670ALG620 4-Channel RTD Analog Input Module.

Station Integration
- Bus Interface: IC670ALG620 exchanges input words and optional status data through a compatible Field Control BIU.
- BIU Revision: The station requires Bus Interface Unit revision 2.0 or later for this intelligent input module.
- Channel Setup: Each sensor channel is enabled and assigned its RTD type before field measurements are used.
- Lead Wiring: Three-wire and four-wire connections must follow the channel terminals and supported lead-resistance limits.
Sensor and Lead Options:
- Independent inputs: Four channels accept individual RTD sensor circuits.
- Lead arrangement: Each point can use the documented three-wire or four-wire connection.
- Sensor families: Supported definitions include platinum, copper, nickel, and nickel/iron elements.
- Resistance selection: Direct measurement ranges of 0–500 Ω and 0–3000 Ω are available.
Reported Data and Scan Timing:
- Digital format: Input conversion uses 15 bits plus sign for the measured value.
- Selectable units: The BIU can receive 0.1 Ω, 0.1°C, or 0.1°F values for each configured channel.
- Point scan: Approximate scan time is 210 ms at 60 Hz or 230 ms at 50 Hz.
- Noise rejection: Normal-mode rejection is specified at 60 dB for 50 Hz and 60 Hz environments.
Sensor Circuit Supervision:
- Continuity faults: Dedicated status bits distinguish an open RTD from a shorted input.
- Wiring check: Each channel can flag a wiring error separately from range alarms.
- Process limits: High, low, underrange, and overrange conditions are reported without changing the measured value.
- Host reset: One optional output bit per RTD clears stored diagnostic bits after the circuit has been corrected.
