Features:
- Detects input pulses as short as one millisecond.
- Provides fast relay action outside the normal CPU scan.
- Lets each relay channel use manual or fast response operation.
The four DC input circuits use separate ON and OFF response characteristics, allowing rapid event pickup while maintaining a defined return interval.
Two independent mode-select references make it possible to commission one relay under ladder control and the other for direct field-event response.
The relay load table separates resistive, lamp, and solenoid duties across AC and DC operating voltages so contact current can be matched to expected service life.

Placing the module in a Series One controller
- Supported hosts: Use with a Series One or Series One Plus programmable controller.
- Reference footprint: Reserve eight consecutive I/O references for each installed module.
- System scale: A controller system can include as many as fourteen Fast Response I/O modules.
- Expanded count: The maximum arrangement provides twenty-eight fast-response outputs and fifty-six inputs in total.
Following the paired channel logic
- First channel: Inputs 0 and 1 form the enable/disable pair associated with output X4.
- Second channel: Inputs 2 and 3 form the enable/disable pair associated with output X6.
- Mode selection: S5 selects the operating mode for X4, while S7 performs the same role for X6.
- Fast-mode decision: The enable input, disable input, and user logic are evaluated together by the published truth table.
Reading field status and protecting the relay common
- Input indication: Each DC input circuit provides a field-side status indicator.
- Output indication: Relay circuit indication is also located on the field side.
- Common protection: A 3 A fuse is installed in the output common line.
- Contact duty: Keep inrush and minimum-load limits within the specified relay operating envelope.
Translating the wiring drawing to field terminals
- Input points: Land the four monitored field circuits on terminals 0 through 3 with the shared 24 VDC arrangement shown.
- First relay: Use output terminal 4 with common C4 for its external load circuit.
- Second relay: Use output terminal 6 with common C6 for the second external load circuit.
- Supply routing: Wire the AC or DC load source through the relay pair exactly as illustrated in Figure 6-56.
