Features:
- Accepts a turbine-speed frequency at IN relative to ACOM.
- Provides separate TRP1 and TRP2 protection outputs.
- Combines channel checks with a locally reset trip latch.
IC3600QOXC3 forms one electronic overspeed channel in the Mark II protection arrangement. Utility-drive installations generally use one electronic channel per shaft, while mechanical-drive arrangements normally use two.
Single-channel and coincident-channel states remain distinguishable because IC3600QOXC3 supplies separate OR-check and AND-check results alongside its trip outputs.
IC3600QOXC3 retains a trip indication after the initiating condition changes when its latch-enabling inputs are satisfied, allowing the stored state to be cleared at the card.
The General Electric IC3600QOXC3 Overspeed Trip Card may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Signal Processing
- Measured quantity: The input frequency follows turbine rotational speed.
- Reference node: ACOM provides the common point for the IN signal.
- Parallel paths: Two trip circuits generate TRP1 and TRP2.
- Primary action: Both paths assert for a predetermined overspeed condition.
Channel Comparison
- CHKOR low: At least one trip path is asserted.
- CHKAND low: Both trip paths are asserted together.
- Single-path state: CHKOR can change without CHKAND changing.
- Coincident state: Both check outputs reflect the two-channel trip condition.
Stored Indication
- Latch output: TPL stores the trip indication.
- Trip input: Either TRP1 or TRP2 can initiate the latch.
- Enabling inputs: 14HM and 4 must both be at logic 1.
- Clear action: The card-front pushbutton resets TPL.
Operating Thresholds
- Overspeed: Trip outputs assert at 110% of rated speed.
- Acceleration: Below 9% rated speed is a defined trip state.
- Deceleration: Below 4% rated speed is a defined trip state.
- Direction context: The low-speed criteria differ for acceleration and deceleration.
