Features:
- Signal Pathway Between Internal FTA and Trusted Input Modules
- 40-Channel Input Routing with Dual 96-Way Connector Assembly
- Compatibility with Analogue and Digital Input Modules in Trusted Systems
The TC-201-02-6M5 serves as the Trusted I/O Companion Slot Cable in a Trusted chassis, providing organized 40-channel input signal pathways from an internal Field Termination Assembly (FTA) to Trusted analogue or digital input modules. It continuously routes incoming input signals through a multi-core cable fitted with specialized 96-way connectors at both terminations to ensure reliable signal distribution across all 40 channels. The chassis end of the cable is fitted with two 96-way type 'C' connectors housed in a double-width hood, while the opposite end features a single 96-way type 'R' connector in a single-width hood enabling direct connection to an internal FTA. The multi-core cable is stripped back 1.5 meters at both ends, then shrouded in protective nylon Rilgain sheathing with heated or over-sleeved terminations to prevent fraying.
The TC-201-02-6M5 provides essential signal connectivity functions within the Trusted I/O companion slot architecture and is a critical component of the input signal path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of connected analogue or digital input modules. One TC-201-02-6M5 cable is required per 40-channel input companion slot configuration to establish the internal FTA-to-module connection. The TC-201-02-6M5 occupies the I/O Companion Slot position and is always configured for internal input applications within the Trusted chassis.
For proper electromagnetic compatibility and safety grounding, the TC-201-02-6M5 incorporates sheathed braids at both the chassis and remote ends, allowing the connector hoods to be wired to safety earth. At the remote FTA end, the multi-core screen drain is wired to a green wire to allow connection to screen earth. Using this method, the cable grounding system ensures effective shield continuity and helps maintain signal integrity across all 40 input channels in demanding industrial environments.
The TC-201-02-6M5 ICS TRIPLEX Trusted I/O Companion Slot Cable may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
