Features:
- Adapter Between the SB401-50 ESB Bus Slave Module and the ESB Bus Physical Connection
- Combines Capability of ESB Bus Signal Distribution with Built-in Termination Support
- Operates in Conjunction with the SB401-50 and CENTUM VP FIO Node Units
The A2EE1A-T ESB Bus Adapter serves as the connector unit with terminator for ESB Bus connections in Yokogawa CENTUM VP distributed control systems, providing reliable physical connectivity and signal termination at the endpoint of ESB Bus segments. It ensures proper impedance matching at the bus termination point, preventing signal reflection and maintaining data integrity across the ESB Bus network operating at 128 Mbps with a maximum transmission distance of 10 meters. The A2EE1A-T is specifically designed for use at terminal nodes of ESB Bus architectures, while intermediate nodes utilize the A2EE1A-N (non-terminating connector unit) to maintain proper bus topology. Seamless ESB Bus communication is standard with the A2EE1A-T, however using it in conjunction with the SB401-50 module ensures stable data transmission between the Field Control Unit (FCU) and connected node units.
The A2EE1A-T provides essential physical connection functions for ESB Bus segments, and is a critical component of the communication path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall CENTUM VP system data exchange. One A2EE1A-T is required at each terminal node of an ESB Bus segment, paired with the SB401-50 ESB Bus Slave Interface Module installed in the FIO Node Unit. The A2EE1A-T connects externally to the SB401-50 module and does not occupy a rack slot itself, as its functionality is integrated as part of the ESB Bus cabling infrastructure.
For Dual Redundant ESB Bus applications, the CENTUM VP system requires two SB401-50 modules installed in the B1 and B2 slots of the FIO Node Unit (such as ANB10D or ANB10S), or on the A2BE2D baseplate. In single configuration setups, the SB401-50 occupies the B1 slot while the B2 slot requires a dummy panel (ADCV01). In addition to standard single ESB Bus operation, the redundant configuration performs automatic failover. The dual ESB Bus configuration executes redundancy using the internal circuitry specified in the SB401-50 module options.
The A2EE1A-T Yokogawa ESB Bus Adapter may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
