Overview Manuals Specifications Configuration & Programming Monitoring & Control Applications

Features:

  • Provides 16 isolated channels for resistance-based field inputs.
  • Accepts three-wire JIS Pt100 RTD or potentiometer inputs.
  • Allows RTD or potentiometer input selection independently for each channel.
The current configuration identifies an AAR145-S03 S1 RTD/POT module for a Yokogawa FIO system. The S03 suffix specifies the ISA Standard G3 and -20 to 70 °C options.

The module acquires resistance signals from temperature sensors or potentiometers and transfers measurement data to the control system for process monitoring.

Before commissioning, verify the FIO node, terminal-board and cable combination, sensor mode and channel mapping. Keep the specified IN A and IN C RTD signal-wire resistances equal.

Availability is subject to Apter Power inventory and sourcing confirmation.

  • Use the A, B and C input terminals according to the RTD or potentiometer connection diagram.
  • Configure the control-system channel for the field sensor assigned to that input.
  • Verify node and terminal-board compatibility before installing the module.
  • RTD input channels provide resistance-based measurements for process temperature monitoring.
  • Potentiometer channels provide resistance measurements for configured position-related signals.
  • Channel measurements are delivered to the FIO control-system application for monitoring and control.
  • Use RTD inputs where a process point is measured with a supported Pt100 sensor.
  • Use potentiometer inputs for compatible variable-resistance field devices.
  • Assign each measurement to the relevant CENTUM control and operator-display strategy.
Description
Yokogawa AAR145-S03 S1 is an isolated resistance-input module for the CENTUM field I/O architecture. It accepts three-wire RTD measurements and potentiometer signals through individually isolated input channels used for plant temperature and position-related variables.

The module converts low-level resistance changes into digital values for the control system while monitoring each assigned channel for an open-sensor condition. Isolation between channels supports installations where field signals originate from separate devices or grounding environments.

Engineering must match the RTD or potentiometer type, terminal-board arrangement, channel mapping, and lead-wire resistance limits. For three-wire RTD circuits, the A and C conductors require equal resistance so that uncompensated wiring error does not distort the measured temperature.

Technical notes
AAR145-S03 S1 requires equal resistance in the A and C leads of each three-wire RTD circuit; verify terminal mapping and sensor wiring before energizing the channel.
