Features:
- Provides 230 VA power for Yokogawa DCS field control units
- Enables high-availability systems with two identical modules
- -20°C to 70°C operation with ISA Standard G3 option
The PW482-S01 is engineered to convert 220-240V AC input power into stable DC power for Yokogawa CENTUM VP DCS systems. With maximum power consumption of 230 VA and input frequency tolerance of 50/60 Hz ±3 Hz, the PW482-S01 delivers consistent performance even under fluctuating grid conditions. The exclusive connector interface ensures secure and reliable connections. This robust power conversion capability makes the PW482-S01 ideal for critical industrial applications where uninterrupted power supply is essential for maintaining process control and system availability.
The PW482-S01 supports both single and dual-redundant configurations to meet varying system reliability requirements. In single configuration, the PW482-S01 must be installed in slot P1. For critical applications requiring maximum uptime, two identical PW482-S01 modules can be installed in slots P1 and P2 for dual-redundant power supply. This architecture ensures that if one module fails, the other continues to provide power, eliminating single points of failure and significantly enhancing system availability for continuous process operations.
The PW482-S01 is available with multiple suffix code options to suit diverse installation environments. The -5 suffix provides standard type without explosion protection, while the -E suffix offers explosion protection for hazardous areas. The -1 suffix includes ISA Standard G3 option with extended temperature range from -20°C to 70°C, making the PW482-S01 suitable for harsh industrial environments. Installation restrictions require the PW482-S01 to be installed in specified slots P1-P2 of compatible units including FCU, FIO Node Units, and Optical ESB Bus Repeater Units.
The PW482-S01 YOKOGAWA Input Power Supply Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond
End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Core Control Hardware Layer: Powers the central processor modules (e.g., CP461, CP471) that compute complex control logic algorithms.
- Input/Output (FIO) Node Units: Delivers the regulated backplane voltages required by I/O modules to convert analog and digital signals coming from field transmitters.
- Inter-Cabinet Communications: Drives Optical ESB Bus Repeater Units (e.g., ANT401/ANT502), which transmit real-time I/O data over optical fiber links between separate control rooms across distances of up to 50 kilometers.
- Voltage and Frequency Resilience: Operates safely on a 220–240 V AC nominal input with a built-in fluctuation tolerance of ± 10% (198 V to 264 V AC) and handling frequency variations of 50/60 Hz ± 3 Hz.
- Low Thermal Dissipation & High Efficiency: Achieves standard operating conversions greater than 85% efficiency. This reduces internal cabinet heat build-up, significantly expanding the overall lifespan of surrounding processors.
- Optimized Power Consumption: Features a strict maximum power consumption of 230 VA under peak load conditions while maintaining a localized weight of approximately 1 kg for easy hot-standby extraction.
- Oil & Gas Refineries & Petrochemical Plants: Deployed in main control panels to manage high-integrity operations like continuous distillation, catalytic cracking, and fuel transfer lines where control computers cannot go offline.
- Thermal & Nuclear Power Generation: Sustains critical boiler, turbine, and auxiliary pump controls under constant high-vibration and high-electromagnetic environmental conditions.
- Large-Scale Water Treatment Facilities: Powers central FIO sub-racks that coordinate long-distance pump channels, monitoring chemical dosing rates and distribution pressures seamlessly.
