The ABB SDCS-AMC-DC Control Board is a critical control component engineered exclusively for DCS 600 modules, requiring mandatory pairing with the SDCS-CON-2 board (equipped with software S15. xxx) to ensure full functionality. At its core is an onboard controller divided into two specialized software sections: the first encompasses a speed regulator and supplementary functions to generate precise torque references, while the second section offers customizable programming for tailored control and regulation characteristics. This dual-structure design enables the board to evaluate incoming data, produce torque references for the SDCS-CON-2, and process actual values from the CON-2 for retransmission to overriding control systems.
Equipped with three high-performance optical channels, the SDCS-AMC-DC supports versatile communication and operational needs. Channel 0 (DDCS protocol) facilitates data exchange between overriding controls (e.g., FCI, APC2, AC80, AC800M, or fieldbus adapter modules) and the DCS 600 drive, while Channel 2 enables Master-Follower operation for synchronized control of multiple interdependent drives. Channel 3 is dedicated to connecting the DriveWindow PC tool for commissioning and maintenance tasks. The board boasts a standard transmission speed of 4 Mb per optical channel, with enhanced speeds of 10 Mb for Channels 0/3 and 5 Mb for Channel 2, complemented by a 30 mA driver current for CH0, CH2, and CH3, and an auxiliary voltage of 230 V.
Designed for industrial reliability, the SDCS-AMC-DC integrates communication, control, and customization capabilities to optimize DCS 600 drive performance, supporting seamless integration into complex automation systems and ensuring precise, synchronized operation across multiple drives.
