More Information

Overview Manuals Event Timing Input Channels System Connections Environmental Limits

Features:

  • Processes and time-stamps transitions from as many as sixteen digital field inputs.
  • Lets each optically isolated channel be programmed for one of four documented AC or DC input levels.
  • Separates time-link termination through NTST01 from field wiring termination through NTDI01.
ABB IMSET01 links digital field transitions with the synchronized time reference used by the Harmony Sequence of Events system.

INTKM01 supplies the time data, NTST01 terminates that link, and NTDI01 carries the sixteen field input circuits into the module.

The Harmony controller uses one function code for SOE data transfer and another for channel configuration, while the I/O expander bus permits one timing module per segment.

The ABB IMSET01 16-Channel Sequence of Events Timing Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Transition-to-Timestamp Path

  • Transition capture: Each on-to-off or off-to-on input change becomes an SOE event.
  • Time source: INTKM01 supplies the synchronized time information.
  • Time termination: NTST01 terminates the time synchronization link before it reaches the timing module.
  • Event transfer: Function code 241 moves timestamped SOE data toward INSEM01.

Isolated Multi-Voltage Sensing

  • Channel count: The module processes up to sixteen digital field inputs.
  • Isolation: Every input channel is optically isolated.
  • DC choices: Channels can be programmed for 24 V, 48 V, or 125 V DC.
  • AC choice: A channel can instead be programmed for 120 V AC in the documented system-control configuration.

Termination and Bus Boundaries

  • Field wiring: NTDI01 provides the termination point for the field input conductors.
  • Synchronization wiring: NTST01 provides the separate time-link termination.
  • Controller bus: The module exchanges data with the Harmony controller through the I/O expander bus.
  • Segment limit: Only one IMSET01 operates on an I/O expander-bus segment.

Installed Module Conditions

  • Temperature: Operation is specified from 0 to 70 °C.
  • Humidity: The allowed noncondensing range changes from 5–95% through 55 °C to 5–45% at 70 °C.
  • Altitude: Operation is specified from sea level to 3 km.
  • Air quality: The installation requires noncorrosive air.
Description
ABB IMSET01 is a Harmony Sequence of Events timing module that processes up to sixteen digital field inputs. It detects each on-to-off or off-to-on transition, associates the transition with synchronized time information, and passes the event record toward the Symphony event-management path.

Each channel on ABB IMSET01 is optically isolated and can be programmed for 24 V DC, 48 V DC, 125 V DC, or 120 V AC input. This arrangement lets one module monitor mixed field-voltage groups while keeping channel sensing separated from the controller electronics.

Time information reaches ABB IMSET01 from INTKM01 through the NTST01 termination unit, while NTDI01 provides field wiring termination. The module communicates with its Harmony controller over the I/O expander bus, where only one IMSET01 can occupy a bus segment.

Function code 241 transfers ABB IMSET01 event data toward INSEM01, and function code 242 configures and accesses the individual input channels. Those two paths separate timestamped event reporting from channel definition while preserving the relationship between each field transition and its recorded time.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Why does ABB IMSET01 connect to both NTST01 and NTDI01?
ABB IMSET01 uses NTST01 for the synchronized time link and NTDI01 for the sixteen field-input conductors, keeping timing and process wiring separate.
How are mixed field voltages handled by ABB IMSET01?
Each isolated channel on ABB IMSET01 can be programmed independently for 24 V DC, 48 V DC, 125 V DC, or 120 V AC.
What is the bus-segment limit for ABB IMSET01?
Only one ABB IMSET01 timing module can operate on a Harmony I/O expander-bus segment, so the segment design cannot assign a second timing module.
Which controller functions use ABB IMSET01 data?
ABB IMSET01 uses function code 241 for SOE data transfer and function code 242 for channel configuration and access.
How does ABB IMSET01 preserve the order of rapid field changes?
ABB IMSET01 associates each detected digital transition with decoded synchronization information before the SOE data is transferred to the event-management module.
