Features:
- Serves as the isolated voltage output interface between the CompactLogix controller and field instrumentation
- Integrates four independent 0-10V DC channels with 15-bit resolution and individual galvanic isolation
- Functions within standard CompactLogix 1769 chassis configurations requiring no field calibration
The Allen-Bradley 1769-OF4VI operates as the isolated analog voltage output module in a CompactLogix system, providing four independent 0 to 10V DC channels to field devices within the rack. It continuously generates precise analog control signals across a full-scale range of 0 to 10.5V with 15-bit resolution at 330 μV per bit and delivers these outputs through individually isolated channels to support steady-state operation of proportional valves, variable frequency drives, and positioning actuators.
The 1769-OF4VI provides essential analog output functions for the CompactLogix control system, and is a critical component of the process control path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of voltage-controlled field instrumentation. One or more 1769-OF4VI modules may be installed per chassis depending on the required output channel count.
For applications requiring robust output protection, the 1769-OF4VI incorporates internal short-circuit safeguarding across all four isolated channels. In addition to standard voltage output operation, the protective configuration also performs automatic current limiting. The 1769-OF4VI protection system executes fault response using the internal circuitry specified in the module design. Using this method, the isolated output system continually monitors the current level of each channel. If the module detects that an output channel has exceeded the maximum short-circuit threshold of 42mA, it will automatically limit the current to protect the internal circuitry and preserve the operational integrity of the remaining three channels.
The 1769-OF4VI Allen-Bradley Isolated Analog Output Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
