Features:
- Enables Precise Dual-Channel Speed And Rotor Monitoring
- Integrates Internal Terminations For Simplified Wiring
- Provides Buffered Outputs For Seamless Rack Integration
The Bently Nevada 133442-01 I/O Module is designed for accurate and reliable signal acquisition in the 3500/50M tachometer system. Supporting dual-channel input, it receives signals from proximity probes or magnetic pickups to monitor shaft speed, rotor acceleration, and rotor direction. Unlike separate Keyphasor modules, 133442-01 integrates buffered outputs directly on the module, reducing the number of components required and simplifying system installation.
Equipped with internal terminations, the 133442-01 eliminates the need for external terminal blocks, saving rack space and reducing wiring complexity. Input impedance is optimized for different configurations, with 20 kΩ standard, 40 kΩ for TMR setups, and 7.15 kΩ for internal barrier applications. The module consumes approximately 5.8 Watts and operates reliably in temperatures from -30°C to +65°C (-22°F to +150°F), with storage conditions ranging from -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F) and 95% non-condensing humidity.
When installed in the 3500 rack, the 133442-01 occupies a single full-height rear slot and works seamlessly with the 3500/50M module to provide advanced monitoring features such as speed alarms, speed band alarms, zero-speed notifications, rotor acceleration alarms, and reverse rotation detection. Its dual-channel capability and integrated design make it ideal for industrial environments where compactness, flexibility, and high-accuracy monitoring are essential.
The 133442-01 Bently Nevada I/O Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Turbine Unit Monitoring: Monitors the rotational speed (RPM), speed increment, and peak speed of steam turbines and gas turbines to prevent overspeed damage.
- Keyphasor Signal Provision: Processes speed pulses into keyphasor signals and distributes them to vibration monitoring modules (e.g., 3500/42M) within the frame for phase analysis and synchronous sampling.
- Zero Speed and Reverse Rotation Monitoring: Monitors extremely low speeds or detects unexpected reverse rotation of the shaft system during turning gear operation or start-up/shutdown.
- Space-Constrained Control Cabinets: The internal terminations design eliminates the need for external terminal blocks (ETB) rails, making it ideal for compact instrument cabinets.
- Matching Installation: Must be installed on the back of the 3500 frame, directly opposite the 3500/50M tachometer main module in the front slot.
- Wiring Method: The sensor cable (usually shielded three-wire or two-wire) connects directly to the green terminal block on the back of the module, without the need for intermediate adapters.
- System Compatibility: 3500/50M Upgrade: It is an enhanced version of the 3500/50 (50M), supporting more advanced signal processing.
- Redundancy Configuration: Supports use in a TMR (Triple Module Redundancy) framework, which typically requires three 3500/50M modules operating in parallel for maximum reliability.
- Software Configuration: After installation, the 3500 Rack Configuration Software is required to set the sensor scaling factor (e.g., pulses per revolution), alarm threshold, and hysteresis.
- Humidity: Maximum 95% relative humidity, non-condensing.
- Vibration and Shock Resistance: Meets typical industrial machinery monitoring standards (e.g., API 670), capable of withstanding continuous vibrations around large pumps and compressors.
- Hazardous Area Certification: North America: Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D.
- International/European: ATEX/IECEx Zone 2 certification (requires corresponding isolation barriers or protective measures).
