Features:
- Provides Stable High-Voltage DC Power To 3500/15 Rack Modules
- Supports Full-Rack Operation With Redundant Power Configurations
- Operates Reliably In Extreme Temperature And Humidity Conditions
The Bently Nevada 129478-01 is a high-voltage DC power input module designed to supply the 3500/15 monitoring rack with reliable external DC power. It ensures smooth transmission to the power supply module, enabling consistent operation of all connected monitoring components even under maximum load conditions.
This module integrates with the 3500/15 AC and DC power supply system and supports one or two power supplies per rack. When installed with a backup module, the 129478-01 maintains continuous operation during insertion or removal, providing flexibility for maintenance without affecting rack performance. Compared to low-voltage modules such as 129477-01, it delivers superior current handling and high-voltage input support for full-rack operation.
Designed for harsh industrial environments, the 129478-01 operates from -30 °C to +65 °C and can be stored between -40 °C and +85 °C, with 95% non-condensing humidity tolerance. Its robust design ensures long-term reliability and seamless compatibility with legacy 3500/15 systems, making it a preferred choice for critical high-voltage DC power applications.
The 129478-01 Bently Nevada Legacy High Voltage DC Power Input Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Pairing Verification: This module must be used with 129486-01 (High Voltage DC Power Supply Module). Before installation, please verify the model number of the power supply module on the front. It is strictly forbidden to connect the high voltage DC input to an AC or low voltage DC module.
- Slot Installation: Install the module at the rear of the power supply slot on the far left of the 3500 frame. When inserting, ensure the pins are aligned and tighten the screws evenly on both sides to ensure proper grounding.
- Wiring Specifications: Use 18 AWG to 14 AWG wire. Due to the high voltage DC (110Vdc level), the terminals must be fitted with insulating sleeves to prevent electric shock or short circuits.
- Upgrade Recommendation: If you plan to upgrade your existing system, it is recommended to consider replacing it with a Universal PIM (Power Module), which is compatible with both AC and high voltage DC, reducing spare parts inventory pressure.
- Fuse Protection: The module integrates a high breaking capacity fuse. When an external power grid surge or a severe short circuit occurs at the back end, the fuse will quickly blow to isolate the fault and prevent damage to the frame backplate.
- Polarity Foolproof Protection: Even if the DC positive and negative terminals are reversed during field wiring, the module's circuit design ensures that internal components will not burn out.
- Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Filtering: Built-in industrial-grade filtering circuitry eliminates ripple interference commonly found in high-voltage DC power supplies, ensuring that the current transmitted to the vibration monitoring module is "clean."
- Redundancy Switching Diagnosis: When the frame is configured with dual power supplies, if the module's input loses power, the 3500/15 power module will immediately report a "Power Supply Failure" event via the rack interface module (RIM), achieving seamless switching and alarm activation.
- Power Plant DC Power Supply: The most typical application scenario. Utilizing the reliable 110V/125V DC battery bank of the power plant for direct power supply ensures that the vibration monitoring system can still monitor the turning gear status even when all plant power is interrupted.
- Aging System Maintenance: Specifically designed for spare parts replacement of 3500 systems commissioned between the 1990s and 2010, maintaining the original high-voltage DC power supply architecture.
- Critical Unit Protection: In applications requiring extremely high availability (such as natural gas pipeline compressor stations), this module, used in conjunction with redundant power modules, provides dual independent high-voltage DC inputs.
- Explosion-Proof Area Isolation: In certain explosion-proof designs, this module introduces high-voltage DC power into the control cabinet, working in conjunction with explosion-proof barriers to power field probes.
