Features:
- Receives proximity transducer input signals and conditions them for machinery vibration and position measurements
- Supports paired channel configuration enabling simultaneous execution of two distinct monitoring functions
- Continuously compares processed static values against user-programmable alert and danger setpoints
The 3500/40M 176449-01 operates as the Proximitor Monitor in a 3500 rack, accepting input signals from Bently Nevada proximity transducers and conditioning them to provide vibration and position measurements for machinery protection. It continuously processes incoming transducer signals and compares the conditioned static values against user-programmable alert and danger setpoints to support continuous monitoring of rotating equipment. Seamless integration with the 3500 system is standard with the 3500/40M, however using paired channel configuration will allow channels 1 and 2 to perform one monitoring function while channels 3 and 4 perform another function simultaneously. The 3500/40M has made improvements in signal processing accuracy and functional flexibility over previous proximitor monitor designs in addition to incorporating multi-function capability within the 3500 rack.
The 3500/40M provides essential machinery protection functions common to the monitoring path, and is a critical component of the condition monitoring system, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall machinery protection scheme. One or more 3500/40M monitor modules may be installed per rack depending on the number of channels required. The 3500/40M occupies a single half-height slot in the rack and can be installed in any available monitor slot position.
For paired monitoring applications, the 3500/40M supports grouping channels 1-2 and channels 3-4 into two independent function pairs. In addition to standard single-function operation per channel pair, the paired configuration also performs simultaneous multi-function monitoring. The 3500/40M executes signal processing using the internal circuitry specified in the monitor configuration. Using this method, the proximitor monitor continually evaluates measured static values against configured alarm thresholds. If the monitor detects that any channel measurement exceeds the programmed alert or danger setpoints, it will automatically activate the corresponding alarm output and place an event in the System Event List.
The 3500/40M 176449-01 Bently Nevada Proximitor Monitor may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
