Features:
- Receives Input Signals from Proximity Probes and Magnetic Pickup Sensors for Keyphasor Signal Generation
- Converts Analog Sensor Signals to Digital Keyphasor Outputs with Expanded Signal Handling Capability
- Functions as an Enhanced Replacement for the PWA 125792-01 Module with Full Backward Compatibility
The 3500/25 149369-01 operates as the Enhanced Keyphasor Module in a 3500 rack, providing precise keyphasor signal processing for all modules within the system. It continuously receives input signals from proximity probes or magnetic pickup sensors and converts them to digital keyphasor signals that indicate the precise moment when a keyphasor mark on the shaft aligns with the transducer. Seamless integration is standard with the 3500/25, however using an optional Paired Configuration will allow expanded keyphasor input capacity of up to eight signals when more than four keyphasor inputs are required. The 3500/25 has made improvements in several areas over previous keyphasor module designs in addition to incorporating enhanced signal handling capability within the 3500 rack.
The 3500/25 provides essential keyphasor functions common to the entire rack, and is a critical component of the monitoring path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of overall rotor speed and phase-related measurements. One or two 3500/25 keyphasor modules are required per rack depending on the desired keyphasor input capacity and redundancy level. The 3500/25 occupies only a single half-height slot in the rack and can be located in any slot other than the dedicated power supply slots.
For Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) applications, the 3500 System requires a second 3500/25 keyphasor module installed to provide primary and backup keyphasor signals in a parallel configuration. In addition to standard single module operation, the redundant configuration also performs parallel signal processing. The 3500 dual keyphasor configuration executes signal distribution using the internal circuitry specified in the module options. Using this method, the redundant keyphasor system continually monitors the health of both modules. If the system detects that the primary keyphasor module is no longer providing stable output (outside configured signal/tolerance levels), it will automatically transfer the signal processing to the secondary module and place an event in the System Event List.
The 3500/25 149369-01 Bently Nevada Enhanced Keyphasor Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
