Features:
- Interface Between Protection Logic and Field Control Devices
- Combines Capability of Independent Relay Control with Programmable Voting Logic
- Operates in Conjunction with the M Series and Standard 3500 Monitors
The 3500/32M 149986-02 operates as the 4-Channel Relay Module in a 3500 rack, providing four independent relay outputs to interface with external control systems. Each relay on the 3500/32M 149986-02 can be independently programmed to perform voting logic using AND and OR operations, and can utilize alarming inputs (Alert and Danger statuses), Not-OK signals, or individual PPLs from any monitor channel or any combination of monitor channels in the rack. Seamless integration is standard with the 3500/32M 149986-02, allowing flexible alarm drive configuration to meet diverse application needs through the Bently Nevada™ 3500 Rack Configuration Software. The 3500/32M 149986-02 has made improvements in several areas over previous relay module designs in addition to incorporating full-height module capability within the 3500 rack.
The 3500/32M 149986-02 provides essential relay output functions common to the entire rack, and is a critical component of the protection path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall monitor system. Any number of 3500/32M 149986-02 modules can be placed in any of the slots to the right of the Transient Data Interface Module depending on the desired output expansion level. The 3500/32M 149986-02 occupies a single full-height slot in the rack and is never located in Slot 0 (the dedicated power supply slots).
For Multi-Module Relay applications, the 3500 System requires additional 3500/32M 149986-02 modules installed in available slots to the right of the Transient Data Interface Module. In addition to standard single module operation, the multi-module configuration also performs independent channel control. The 3500 relay configuration executes protection logic using the internal circuitry specified in the relay module options. Using this method, the 3500/32M 149986-02 continually monitors the status of assigned monitor channels. If the system detects that configured alarm conditions are met (Alert, Danger, Not-OK, or PPL states), it will automatically activate the corresponding relay output and place an event in the System Event List.
The 3500/32M 149986-02 Bently Nevada 4-Channel Relay Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Vibration & Speed Monitoring: Receives alarm signals from vibration or speed monitoring systems to trigger external alarms or equipment stops.
- Machine Shutdowns: Used in over-speed or over-vibration protection systems to safely shut down critical assets.
- External Device Control: Drives external annunciators, beacons, or control systems to alert operators to potential faults.
- Safety-Critical Systems: Used in SIL 1 or SIL 2 (Functional Safety) environments to ensure fail-safe operation (e.g., de-energizing during faults).
- Voting Logic: Each of the four channels can be independently programmed with "AND/OR" voting logic.
- Alarm Drive Logic: Relays can be triggered by Alert/Danger statuses, "Not-OK" conditions, or individual Proportional Process Variables (PPLs) from any monitoring channel in the rack.
- Switch Selectable: Each channel can be hardware-configured for Normally Energized (NE) or Normally De-energized (NDE) operation.
- Adjustable Settings: Supports adjustable trip settings and time delays to prevent nuisance alarms.
- Core Requirements: Requires a 3500/22 Transient Data Interface (TDI) module to function within the rack.
- Software Versions: Requires 3500 Rack Configuration software version 4.5 or later, and Data Acquisition software version 2.40 or later.
