Features:
- Reads parameters from installed AMS A6500 ATG protection modules.
- Provides Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU and OPC UA interfaces.
- Supports hot replacement with configuration storage on an SD card.
The current ordering configuration is
A6500-CC, the AMS A6500 System Communication Card documented for AMS 6500 ATG.
In the intended system role, the card supports Ethernet Modbus TCP/IP, serial Modbus RTU and OPC UA. It also provides time synchronization, local USB service and configuration storage on an SD card.
For selection and commissioning, confirm rack addressing, serial line settings, Ethernet topology, protocol mapping and cybersecurity controls before replacement. Save the active configuration before removing a running card.
Availability is subject to Apter Power inventory and sourcing confirmation.

- Transfers machinery-protection values to a plant historian or supervisory host, for its documented operating duty.
- Publishes rack measurements through OPC UA for condition-monitoring integration, through the intended receiving-system interface.
- Connects serial monitoring clients to the ATG rack through configured Modbus RTU lines, in the configured and commissioned installation.
- Two plant protocols are available through Ethernet and serial interfaces, within the configured host communication path.
- The OPC UA server exposes configured monitoring information to compatible clients, using the documented wiring and interface conditions.
- SNTP keeps communication timestamps aligned with the plant time source, before live data exchange is enabled.
- Protocol maps, addresses and network parameters are stored on the removable SD card, within the controlled engineering configuration.
- Password protection restricts changes to communication settings, preventing uncontrolled changes to the approved setup.
- USB service access supports local setup of the communication interface, so replacement work retains the approved settings.
- Built-in checks supervise hardware, supply condition and card temperature, during commissioning and fault isolation.
- Network status helps distinguish link loss from missing module data, during normal monitoring and fault analysis.
- A configuration backup supports controlled recovery after card replacement, as part of a controlled service-recovery process.
