Features:
- Interface Between the IC693PTM101 Power Transducer Module and Series 90‑30 PLC Backplane
- Combines Capability of Precise Power Measurement with Direct PLC Backplane Integration
- Operates in Conjunction with IC693PTM100 / IC693PTM101 Modules and Series 90‑30 PLC Systems
The IC693PTM101 operates as a Power Transducer Module within the Series 90‑30 PLC system, providing accurate real‑time measurement of voltage, current, power, energy, and frequency across single‑phase and three‑phase circuits. It continuously converts analog signals from connected voltage and current inputs into standardized digital outputs that are transmitted through the PLC backplane to monitoring and control logic for energy management, load monitoring, and fault detection. Seamless data integration is standard with the IC693PTM101, however using multiple PTM modules in redundant configurations allows continuous monitoring and automatic failover in the event of a module or signal path failure. The IC693PTM101 includes improvements in measurement resolution, isolation, and industrial robustness compared to previous PTM designs, ensuring reliable operation in electrically noisy and harsh industrial environments.
The IC693PTM101 provides essential power measurement and monitoring functions within the Series 90‑30 PLC system, and is a critical component of the energy management path, directly affecting accurate calculation of voltage, current, power, and energy parameters. One or more IC693PTM101 modules may be installed per system depending on the number of monitored circuits and required redundancy. The IC693PTM101 connects securely to the Series 90‑30 backplane via standard PTM interface cables and ensures reliable, high-resolution signal transmission for all connected PLC logic and monitoring functions.
For critical power monitoring applications, multiple IC693PTM101 modules can be deployed in parallel to support redundant measurement configurations within the Series 90‑30 PLC system. In addition to standard single-module operation, the redundant setup performs automatic signal validation and switchover. The PLC continuously monitors the integrity of each PTM module and its connected inputs. If the system detects that a module is no longer providing accurate power measurements (due to sensor issues, signal interference, or internal faults), it automatically switches to the secondary module as the active measurement source and logs an event in the System Event List.
The IC693PTM101 Power Transducer Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
