Features:
- Interface Between the AC Power System and Series 90-30 PLC Backplane
- Combines Capability of RMS Voltage/Current Measurement with Power Factor Calculation
- Operates in Conjunction with External CT/PT Transformers and Standard Series 90-30 CPUs
The IC693PTM101A operates as the **Power Transducer Module** in a Series 90-30 PLC rack, providing reliable AC power measurement from external electrical systems to the PLC modules within the system. It continuously converts incoming AC voltage and current signals (10-150 VAC, 0-7.5 A) to regulated power parameter data and distributes this information through the PLC backplane to support steady state operation of all power monitoring and energy management functions. Seamless data transfer is standard with the IC693PTM101A, however using an optional RS-485 Modbus RTU Configuration** will provide additional communication flexibility for remote monitoring and SCADA integration in demanding industrial environments. The IC693PTM101A has made improvements in several areas over previous power measurement designs in addition to incorporating **universal 35-70 Hz frequency range capability** with ±0.5% accuracy within the Series 90-30 rack.
The IC693PTM101A provides essential power measurement functions common to the entire PLC rack, and is a critical component of the energy monitoring path, directly affecting the accuracy and reliability of voltage, current, and power factor data acquisition in the overall control system. One IC693PTM101A module is required per power measurement point depending on the desired monitoring coverage and electrical system configuration. The IC693PTM101A occupies only a single slot in the Series 90-30 rack and is always located in the appropriate base unit slot (the dedicated power transducer position, the primary AC power measurement interface).
For Dual Redundant Power Measurement applications, the Series 90-30 System requires a second IC693PTM101A module installed at the same measurement location or a secondary measurement point. In addition to standard single module operation, the redundant configuration also performs automatic cross-verification for critical power monitoring applications. The Series 90-30 dual measurement configuration executes comparison using the internal signal processing specified in the PLC CPU options. Using this method, the redundant power measurement system continually monitors the health of both transducer channels. If the system detects that the primary IC693PTM101A is no longer providing stable output (outside configured voltage/current/tolerance levels), it will automatically validate the measurement against the secondary module and place an event in the PLC Fault Table.
The IC693PTM101A Power Transducer Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
