Features:
- General Electric IC697ACC724 combines three ball-bearing fans in one rack-mounted cooling assembly.
- The filtered intake directs cooling air upward through supported Series 90-70 and listed IC698 racks.
- A removable 30 PPI polyurethane element allows the intake filter to be serviced separately.
IC697ACC724 is the 240 VAC member of the rack fan-assembly family rather than the 120 VAC or 24 VDC version.
Its three fan motors share one field source while remaining separate parallel loads inside the assembly.
The bottom-mounted enclosure and filtered intake establish the direction and clearance needed for rack airflow.
The General Electric IC697ACC724 Series 90-70 Rack Fan Assembly may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Rack and revision boundaries
- Series 90-70 racks: IC697ACC724 fits the rack revisions named in the fan-assembly installation instructions.
- IC698 support: Listed IC698 racks are included only for the documented hardware revisions.
- Mounting position: The assembly belongs under the rack so its discharge enters the module area.
- Clearance boundary: At least 23cm must remain below the intake for unrestricted air entry.
Three-fan field connection
- Common source: All three fan motors connect to the same 240 VAC supply.
- Parallel branches: The wiring arrangement gives each motor a branch across the field source.
- Frequency range: The assembly accepts either 50 Hz or 60 Hz operation.
- Connection check: Field wiring must be matched to the IC697ACC724 voltage code, not to the 120 VAC or 24 VDC family member.
Cooling flow through the rack
- Air entry: Room air first passes through the foam element beneath the fans.
- Fan stage: Three motors distribute airflow across the rack width.
- Module path: Discharge moves upward through the installed electronics rather than across the rack face.
- Obstruction risk: A blocked lower opening reduces the air available to all three fan channels.
Intake-filter handling
- Foam element: The 30 PPI polyurethane media traps debris before it reaches the fan blades.
- Separate access: The retainer permits filter removal without disturbing the rack modules.
- Airflow effect: The documented flow is lower with the filter installed, so loading of the media matters.
- Service trigger: Clean or replace the element when dirt accumulation restricts the intake.
