Features:
- Accepts eight grouped single-ended current inputs
- Allows 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA range selection by channel
- Converts each channel in 60 µs typical with 5 µA analog resolution
The IC670ALG230 input path uses an approximately 250-ohm shunt and a first-order filter with a typical 160 Hz transition frequency. At 25°C, the stated maximum error is ±0.05% of full scale.
Open-wire indication is available for channels configured for 4–20 mA service, while 0–20 mA operation disables that function. The measurement span, scaling, and diagnostic expectations should therefore be reviewed together.
Two-, three-, and four-wire current transmitters can be accommodated by the documented terminal arrangements. Field power must remain between 18 and 30 VDC, and all channels share the module grouping and isolation characteristics.
Apter Power can assist with range, transmitter wiring, and terminal-block matching for the General Electric IC670ALG230 8-Channel Current Source Analog Input Module.

Eight grouped current inputs
- Channel count: Eight single-ended inputs share the grouped module arrangement.
- Range choice: Select 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA separately for each channel.
- Input span: The documented usable current span is 0.1 to 20 mA.
- Maximum input: Do not exceed the specified 30 mA maximum input.
Conversion and accuracy data
- Digital resolution: 12 bits typical for the input conversion.
- Analog resolution: 5 µA for measured current.
- Conversion time: 60 µs per channel typical.
- Accuracy: Maximum error at 25°C is ±0.05% of full scale.
Current-loop installation checks
- Field supply: Provide 18 to 30 VDC for the module field-power input.
- Transmitters: Follow the applicable two-, three-, or four-wire connection diagram.
- Open wire: The 4–20 mA range enables open-wire indication near the documented threshold.
- Commissioning: Verify polarity, common wiring, channel range, scaling, and live current before accepting data.
