Features:
- Provides the FIP network interface for a Field Control station
- Supplies a 6.5 VDC logic rail rated up to 1.0 A for I/O modules
- Stores the station configuration in nonvolatile terminal-block memory
The IC670FBI001 enclosure presents four status indicators and a hand-held programmer connector for local station work. FIP network connectors, power terminals, and the station interconnect are located on the separate terminal assembly.
Its nominal 24 VDC input accepts 18 to 30 VDC and is rated at 16.8 W maximum at full load. Inrush capability and the total current required by the installed I/O modules must be considered when sizing the source.
Because configuration memory remains with the terminal block, the interface module can be removed without dismantling every connection. The retained block should still be inspected for correct FIP wiring, grounding, and station data before reuse.
Apter Power can assist with FIP bus, power-budget, and terminal-block checks for the General Electric IC670FBI001 FIP Bus Interface Unit.

FIP station connections
- Bus ports: The terminal assembly provides connectors for a single or dual FIP bus arrangement.
- Station interface: IC670FBI001 exchanges data and diagnostics for the attached Field Control modules.
- Local access: A compatible hand-held programmer can be connected at the module.
- Addressing: Verify the FIP protocol and station address settings before network startup.
24 VDC supply design
- Operating range: Use an external source within 18 to 30 VDC.
- Full-load rating: Allow up to 16.8 W input power at nominal voltage.
- I/O output: The 6.5 VDC logic supply provides up to 1.0 A to station modules.
- Power interruption: A loss longer than the documented hold-up interval resets the station I/O.
Terminal-block installation checks
- DIN rail: Mount the terminal assemblies on a conductive DIN rail that forms part of the grounding system.
- Wiring retention: Inspect the retained power, FIP, and interconnect wiring before fitting IC670FBI001.
- Fuse: Check the documented replaceable input-line fuse without disturbing other module wiring.
- Acceptance: Confirm LEDs, hand-held programmer access, FIP communication, and each module after power-up.
