Features:
- User-supply monitoring integrated into the module
- One common slow-blow fuse for the output power path
- PWR indication tied to field power, fuse continuity, and backplane power
The monitoring circuit in
IC670MDL740 observes the external supply that feeds the grouped outputs and reports a user-power fault when that source falls below the documented threshold.
Its PWR indicator is therefore more than a backplane-power lamp: field voltage and common-fuse continuity must also be present for the indication to remain on.
If every load in the group stops together, the shared fuse and user supply should be examined before individual field devices are treated as failed.

Current Distribution
- Point rating: Each output may carry up to 0.5 A within the specified conditions.
- Module rating: Total load current across all outputs is limited to 4 A.
- Inrush: Starting current from lamps, solenoids, or contactors must be included in the load study.
- Supply: Maintain the external source between 10 and 30 VDC.
Grouped Circuit Protection
- Fuse type: The module uses a common 5 A slow-blow fuse.
- Coverage: One fuse protects the shared output power path for the group.
- Fault response: Investigate shorted wiring or excessive load before fitting a replacement fuse.
- Isolation: De-energize the field supply before servicing the fused circuit.
Sourcing Output Connections
- Load return: Connect field-device returns according to the official common diagram.
- Output polarity: The module sources positive voltage to the selected load.
- Terminal check: Match every point number to the correct terminal-block position.
- Inductive loads: Apply the suppression method specified for the connected field device.
